Am I understanding this right? The same tow truck driver who happened to reportedly see her walking, is the same one that later towed the car?

a few things:
1. Articles keep saying her car was broken down or out of gas but we know it wasn’t, as parents drove it to gas station from tow yard. Things would change for me if the car was truly not working.
2. Leaving everything behind in the car - you would not leave your car unlocked with keys/cellphone etc inside unless you didn’t care what happened to them...?
3. Was it really her seen walking? I hope they have video...

I had to read the article twice again, because I too thought he saw her while towing her car. I don't think so though....

Shifting details frustrate family of missing Richmond woman as search goes on
“(The vehicle) was broken down on 295 (south) near the Washington Street exit #9 and towed to (South) Portland. She was seen walking north on the southbound side at between 6:30 am and 7:30 am Tuesday,” Anne Heinig wrote. “The tow company was called at 8:30 (a.m.) or 9:30 (a.m.) to tow it and never called us as the registered owners.”

“I can tell you I personally spoke with the witness (who saw her) and it was articulated directly to me that Ms. Heinig was walking southbound in the northbound lane,” Pardue said Monday afternoon.

I'm not sure the tow truck driver was the witness also. I think it was originally reported as such, but after reading this, I think it was two different people. Possible first person was also a tow truck driver, but I don't think it is the same one that towed her actual car.

But I do agree with others that I think it would be hard to determine it was in fact her walking unless they pulled over, especially with a hat on. But, then again, how many people actually walk that highway??? Especially with a car broken down? Could it be someone dumping her car, absolutely. Could it be her walking, absolutely. A homeless person walking, maybe....although I think the coincidence of this is really big. I lean more towards her or someone leaving car.

I'm still leaning towards self harm though. I know she had things for her daughter's birthday, but holidays are a horrible time of year for those with mental illness. Her last post is a big factor in this for me. Everything else she posted is private (except for profile pics). Why was this ONE post made public for all to see? She had been alone for a few days with a lot of time to think. We have to remember suicide isn't logical thinking, if it was, people wouldn't do it.

Not ruling out that someone dumped her car and did something to her though......that part makes sense also. Would explain the car being left even though it still had some gas in it, her items being left in the car. I'm really curious to as to her timeline leading up to her disappearance. Was she alone, if yes, I lean towards self harm. If with others, lean towards something happening to her.

This one is puzzling for sure!

@ASheehy .... I was looking at a picture of the area of I 295 and the river.... is there a railroad track that runs on one side of the highway between I 295 and a residential area and crosses the river? Or is it a small road? I'm not thinking it has anything to do with the AH case, just curious?? TIA
That's correct. It's maybe 20 or so feet away from the SB side and runs relatively parallel to 295.

Where you mentioned her last FB being a big factor for you, and many others, that's why I want to see if LE can located the exact IP location of where that post was made. While she may have made the post herself, or was it done under distress of direction by someone threatening her? I don't want to go too far down that path until LE provides some insight but I do have that floating around in my mind.

I hope that our people here who know her get verified so we can ask some questions. I’d love to know more about her relationship with the father of the kids, her general demeanor, etc.

Railroad or small passenger vehicle road?
Railroad.

And I agree with you. The weird thing is, usually when people have "not so good people" in their lives, that's immediately what friends/family start dishing. Here we haven't heard a bad word about her, or anyone in her life. It's so puzzling!!

The search for Anneliese Heinig resumed Wednesday morning, as investigators scoured the Presumpscot River for traces of the 37-year-old mother of two.

A float plane made repeated passes above the area where I-295 crosses the river in Falmouth, and firemen and police gathered on the Route 9 bridge next to the interstate. A state police dive team trailer was on scene.

By 11 a.m., two divers aboard a Maine Marine Patrol boat were preparing to enter the water upstream of Middle Road.

Heinig’s friends have organized a vigil for her Friday at 6 p.m. on the mall in Brunswick, he said.

The fact that her car was driveable is confusing. I’m trying to think of reasons a person would pull over on a busy highway, get out, and walk away leaving purse, keys and phone in the car.

Yet it seems to be the case if indeed she was seen walking...as for reasons, I wonder if they will ever be known, if this is what took place.

SO many resources are being used in this search and in this area. I trust LE knows more about the situation than what has been made public. That's a ton of effort if it's only just in case. IMO

If she's there and did jump or fall, I hope they find her. I still really hope she is on vacation somewhere safe.

Who says that someone didn't sneak in a gallon of gas- just enough to get the parents to a gas station?

Also, how could the person that saw her on the road walking know for sure that it was her walking? Traffic goes by so fast- unless you know who someone is personally, you can't necessarily assume it was her walking.

I want to know if anyone else saw her that morning. If not, this is leaning towards foul play for me. I've been sitting on my hands with my thoughts.

Who else saw Anneliese walking that day at that time? With all of that traffic, someone else would have spotted her.

Looking at these pictures, and the one posted up thread by @rainynights , I just can't see this being the kind of bridge someone would jump off in an attempt to end their life. The height doesn't seem that high, and it looks like a rock bed close below. And wouldn't someone have seen her climb on the bridge if its a majorly traveled road.... and at @6:30am, it's light here on the east coast. I'm sure LE knows more than we do and have their reasons for searching this area. Maybe @ASheehy or @willow324 can give us a better feel for the height of the bridge.

You know when you have that unsettling "gut feeling"? That's what I have going on with this case. I think I'll have it until LE gives us more information.....especially to hear that the witness knows for sure it was AH ,so I can get the thoughts of someone else ditching her car on the side of I 295 before it ran out of gas, walking away in order to not risk being noticed/connected with the vehicle and the purse and contents in it... and then there's the last 2 FB posts... I'm surely not one to know if a post seems uncharacteristic regarding someone I don't know. But for those of us who followed the PF/KB case you'll remember KB's boss noticed after looking at it a few times that those texts were uncharacteristic for her.

I pray more leads send the searches in the right area....and I pray this beautiful girl is found!!
