What would the battery do at the point (if) he entered water?

also, against TOS to link to or discuss but there is strong feelings behind the scenes here stufff going on with the search and locals. Everyone is trying to help. So many people local with knowledge on where to search ....due to heavy recent rainfal, like much of theUK right now, there is flooding to contend with

I mentioned early on in the thread I think it points to his battery dying mainly because of the time between last use and switch off.

However if that means the phone was still on, could the police not ping it to a specific location?

I think that sometimes in misper cases there can be an issue with police accessing certain data records. If someone is voluntarily missing (and who knows at this stage) then it may be illegal to invade his personal data in that way. I'm not sure at what stage such things are granted.

Regarding the phone going off. I don't think there's a way of knowing between battery dying and manual powering down of a phone. I might be wrong. And the 1am phone going down may not be true. It is stated in MSM but then I've seen elsewhere that it was off within about 5 minutes of him walking outside of the pub.

Do you think they could of retrieved something with his phone and that's why the police are saying he's still in the town maybe?

I just can't stop wondering why he left the pub, maybe some fresh air or a cigarette break?
I really hope there is a happy ending but a river being so close and now this pool, it's seeing very unlikely now
People act unpredictably when they are seriously inebriated. Perhaps he thought he was going to get sick and went for fresh air, or perhaps he was so out of it he didn't know what he was doing at all. Regardless, I hope he is found soon and his loved ones can know the outcome.
With the time that has gone by, I think we all know the chances of him being hearty and hale are slim. However, hope persists.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Thanks for this. I'm confused, is he in any of these lengthy footage from CCTV? Or is everyone in it, just a passer by on foot or cars passing by? Also, can someone clarify did he leave voluntarily or was the pub so crowded, he went outside for some air/a *advertiser censored* or whatever, and wasn't allowed back inside due to Xmas drinks overcrowding? (Only asking this, as it happened to somone I know two nights ago and they got separated from their friends)

I'm in the same boat as you, can't work out which video he's in, IF he's in one! I read his partner said he'd gone outside of the pub to send a text, and, was never seen again

Now reading that his phone was off from 7.21 pm onwards. Wonder if he had arranged to meet someone & switched his phone off to avoid his location being detected? IF he was meeting "someone he shouldn't be', it means he could avoid having to reply to texts & calls for the time that he was with person/persons. Also, if he was feeling low, the above would apply. MOO.

I wonder if the taxi firms should be looked more into if that's his last location. Could something have happened in a taxi?
I just find it odd, if he's waiting for a taxi , you wouldn't wander off.
Good point that something could have happened in a taxi

I think this is the only camera in the neighborhood available and they hope they get a lead. You can ask yourself why would he even walk in that direction if he did. Is there a taxi-stand? I don't even think he is on that CCTV footage at all. I wonder how he had planned to travel home anyway.

On the Facebookpages of Addington, Kent Fire Station and Kent Fire and Rescue service Anthony's colleagues and other concerned people are posting about him missing. Good to see.

Addington Fire Station - London, United Kingdom - Fire Station | Facebook

Kent Fire and Rescue Service

Being a public service they warn all the time not to drive and drink (take a cab), not to drive through floodwater, not get to drunk and end up in water (you will probably drown). I guess Anthony, being a firefighter, knows about this dangers and would act accordingly.

Mad Friday, Frantic Friday or Black Eye Friday is a nickname for the last Friday before Christmas in Great Britain.:(

PRC_113441436.jpg
It is the most popular night for office and factories Christmas parties, which consequently makes it one of the busiest nights in the year for ambulances and the police
PAY-MAD-FRIDAY-MAIN.jpg
In parts of the United Kingdom, the day has been referred to as Black Eye Friday, due to unusually high number of fights that break out in bars, pubs and clubs

It is sometimes called Builders' Friday, as it is the last day of work for many construction workers,
...it is also known as Factory Friday, as it is the last day of work for many factory workers who finish work at lunchtime and spend the rest of the day socialising in pubs.

Mad Friday, also known as Builders' Friday or Black-eyed Friday, marks the start of the festive party season as many offices close for the holidays.
The last Friday before Christmas sees hundreds of revellers enjoying a boozed up night out and indulging in the Christmas spirit.

Mirror

:cool:Most places finish work at lunchtime when many people head straight off on the lash, so the early start for drinking wouldn't be unusual.

Hahaha, thanks. I got the picture. Good old England on a drinking binge.

He may not be on the footage.....was helping look through it yesterday with them.... but loads of potential witnesses are on there! Someone will have seen him

Hi @Rosegold68 Just wondering. Up thread you are talking about things behind the scene you seem to know about, without further explanation. Now you referring to "them". Who are them? Are you a family member or acquaintance?

What a sad case :( I’ve heard of multiple stories like these and they never end well...

Some amateur musings....

I wonder about the possibility of him having lost his phone. If you’ve been drinking for 8 hours, that’s bound to happen to someone. I think this could explain him wondering off and not being able to meet back up with anyone. He also might not be able to get himself a ride home, leading to wondering...

I’d like clarification on whether his phone was turned off immediately or if it was at 1 am. I wonder if when his coworkers noticed his absence, or if the phone went straight to voicemail. Concerned phone calls could have drained the battery, but if it was turned off early and went straight to voicemail it suggests it was done with intention?
Just opinions...my heart is so sad for his children and fiancé :( What a horrible way to spend a Christmas...

Cops search pool & river for fireman, 33, who vanished after pub crawl

“He had planned to get a cab with one of his friends or get a train to Croydon.

“Anthony’s not a big drinker, even when he did have a drink he wasn’t a paralytic drunk, you could still have a conversation with him.

“Anthony is capable of looking after himself.

“He is trained in survival, he is not going to walk into a flooded area he is going to turn around and go a different way.”

Wouldn't it be far more logical he was looking for a cab or made his way to the train station. On the Station road (just crossing the road from Fisher street) is a taxi stand (in most city's they are) as far as I can see in front of the station building (GM taxi's). It wasn't to late to take a train either. Are there no camera's on the station building? How did the group went to Lewes. By train? Then he would have known the route.
