Hmm She was last seen at Islington and Steeles, yet the command post is set up at Steeles and Finch. I live just a smudge north of there and I didn't see anything this morning.
I do wonder if it's near her home. I might take a look tonight, if I remember, to see if there is more of a police presence.

WARMINGTON: Cops hunt alleged killer after his ex-wife murdered

Rakeshbhai Patel
''The manhunt for murder suspect Rakeshbhai Patel is on!

And if you live in northwest Toronto, Peel Regional Police detectives say you may be able to help.

“This is the concentrated area of the search right now
,” said a Peel police source, who has been searching for the 36-year-old suspect in the murder of his 28-year-old ex-wife, Heeral Patel.

Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree-murder for Rakeshbhai Patel, who, according to investigators, has gone off the grid since his former wife disappeared from the Islington-Steeles Aves. area on Jan. 11.''

And the sole focus right now is on finding the dead woman’s estranged husband. As Toronto Sun crime reporter Chris Doucette posted Thursday, “investigators are encouraging him to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.”

''Despite looking into potential hiding spots in Brampton and Toronto, officers have so far not been able to locate the labourer who they believe had been working in a factory.''

''Investigators are also hoping a description of a missing car — a 2009 silver, four-door Honda Civic, with the licence plate CDMP042 — will help jog peoples’ memories.''

''But if you are helping him, police highlight the severity of the case and warn of the potential danger that you could be facing.''

WARMINGTON: Is body that of woman’s alleged killer?
''First Heeral Patel was found dead by a dog walker.

Now, with the discovery of a man’s body in Etobicoke, the manhunt for 28-year-old Heeral’s alleged killer — her husband, Rakeshbhai Patel — may be over.

Although investigators are awaiting results from an autopsy, Peel and Toronto Police officers say they believe the gruesome discovery is that of the man who has been wanted on a Canada-wide first-degree murder warrant''.

''Her husband’s financial activity went dormant in the hours following the discovery. Police embarked on a search for the labourer and for a 2009 silver, four-door Honda Civic, with the licence plate CDMP042.

Toronto Police in 23 Division also have found the car.''
“They helped a lot with searches,” a Peel officer said of Toronto Police. “They did a lot of work searching for her when she was reported missing.”

Officers used recently-installed powers in missing persons legislation during their investigation.''
