This is an interesting tweet...

Anthony Todt had a strong odor as he walked past us... I will be live at 5pm w/more about his family. @News13JeffAllen will also be live talking about this criminal case from the scene where it happened. @MyNews13 #News13Osceola #Celebration #DeathInvestigation #TodtFamily

I’m thinking he was in the house with decomposing bodies for quite some time and it absorbs into your skin? No power to shower ? It was cut off IIRC

This turns my stomach! Blech!!

Do we know why they decided to move full time to Celebration, when their business was still at home?

I don't know the answer to that, but I'm very curious about "why" as well. It would only make sense, IMO, if he had several PT's employed who were generating income for the practice. I'm not sure this was the case.

I'm not sure of the accuracy, but I've seen that Megan may have had MS and the warmer weather was better for her condition. They lived in FL before as well.

According to the website he did have other PT there. But he was flying back and forth every week. Week in CT and weekend in FL. That's discussed in the Affidavit.

Thanks. I just got done reading the Affidavit. It appears he was spending more time in Florida than he was in Connecticut. He was at the Connecticut office around three days a week, and he began to bill the government and private insurers for services that were never rendered. What an incredible mess.

Here's the Affidavit. I just bought from Pacer and added to Google Drive
affidavit tony todt.pdf

Thank you so much for doing this. It provides a lot of information. It appears he was essentially working part-time in terms of being able to provide legitimate services to patients.

If his wife did have a health problem in which Florida was better for her, there were other options. Bankruptcy, if needed, sell or shut down the Connecticut clinics and for him to find a job in Florida and scale back on the family's living expenses.

It will be interesting to learn if there was anything more that was going on that further added to the financial problems.

I've read that a neighbor witnessed a packed car at one point. Anyone think he was going to pull a John List?

This is so sad. I live very close to Celebration.
I was wondering why he didn't. Maybe he had some funds squirreled away but that account somehow got locked before he could empty it due to the fraud case.

Or he had a lady friend he was hoping to run with but she didn't go for it.

So, professionally I've seen a company be bled dry by the types of loans that he took out on his business. They're essentially payday loans for businesses with ALL the implications of that characterization. But, I still don't understand why he wouldn't just declare bankruptcy once this was all over. Adding murder to the mix just isn't rational.

So then did he and wife argue/fight after she found out about his secret debt, he killed her in a fit of rage and then knowing he was now a murderer killed the rest of the family and the pet as knew they wouldn't be able to bear it? Was it one major fit of rage that went too far and then the rest he felt there was no other option?

I cannot get over how blatantly stupid TT is.

The one scenario they lay out is just....I don't have words.

TT claims to have treated 16 patients with 9 increments of PT (each increment is 15 min - so 2hrs 15min of PT for each patient). All services were provided by himself. These services equate to 36 hours of treatment...in a 24 hour period. And not a single patient had any chart notes.

If that isn't bad enough - services were performed on a SATURDAY (no office hours for the business) - when he was PROVED (via flight records) to be in Florida. And his access records show he only accessed one patient record on that day from an IP address IN Florida.

I mean really, how exactly did he think he was going to get away with things like that?

Affidavit pages 25-28

Agree - very stupid. I'm following a case in another state that involved a dental office manager who stole way more from Medicaid than it appears TT stole. Murder wasn't involved, but the fraud went on for years before being discovered. In that case, he used a billing code over and over again for a very expensive service that is very rare and that particular clinic did not even employ a specialist who could have provided that kind of service. They had a lot of Medicaid patients and he picked and chose people from their patient list and just electronically submitted claims on them and he was paid.

This case is in a state that provides public access of to online court records and the status of the case appears to be stalled, after almost two years. He bailed out of jail and he is having a good time, living his life.

What did John List do? (I'm in the UK)
Long story short - he got himself into a ton of debt, murdered his whole family (mom, wife & 3 kids) and then made himself a new life. The bodies weren't discovered for a month and he was long gone living under a new identity. This happened in 1971. They didn't find him until the late 80's.
