IF the stab wounds were done by Tony post-mortem because of gas bloat, what does that accomplish? What would happen if he didn't touch the bloated bodies?

They can um. Explode. :( jmo

There are numerous scientific links out there. I didn't link any because they're nauseating. I'll provide one if need be.

Well now that everybody has found the embedded images, it should be pretty clear that these were superficial stab wounds that did not even breach the abdominal wall. So, they are, in my opinion, a form of staging.

There is also no hemorrhage or injury to neck structures or nasal or mouth soft tissue, so smothering and strangulation appear ruled out.

Which brings one back to poisoning.
Maybe that is why Meghan , I believe it was said, had liver problems! Slowly poisoned? I'm biting my tongue, I hope not.

I wonder if he and Mom agreed on a murder/suicide pact and he didn’t go through with his part either purposeful or cause he chickened out or the amount of poison he took didn’t kill him? Then maybe he just sort of had a psychological break of some kind after explaining why he stayed in house with the bodies? JMO. I just can’t come up with ANY reason a person would stay in the home with the bodies.

I definitely figured that, but does it always happen? He killed his whole family, what difference does it make. I guess I’m just trying to understand his logic. The only thing I can come up with is that the smell would be 10x worse and he was planning to live there with them for as long as he could.

I think it more likely that the reason he is in the cage is that he is considered a risk to himself. I also think that the reason his attorney requested that the charges were not read out is because of the threats AT has made to harm himself.

This is a good msm - it has a timeline - Arrest Warrant, Autopsy Reports Offer New Details in Deaths of Todt Family

Well, that's interesting. I can't imagine why he would be a lower suicide risk in a cage than sitting on a bench like the other fellas. I've seen before where prisoners wear those weird straight jackets at arraignments.

Not really. They note that organs are decomposing. You can still usually tell if the tissues were bled out.
The boys feet (13) were mummified as noted in his prelim autopsy - and they all had putrafactive decomposition- I need to google that - mom was dressed in shirt and pants as was the 4 year old but the 13 year old had just underwear - curious about these different states - still reading
JMO
ETA ugh looks like 10-20 days for this stage of decomp to be noted

Stages of Post-Mortem Changes in the Human Body

Mummification:
Mummification is the desiccation invariably occurring when the body has been in a dry environment without exposure to insect activity. This process results in a shriveled, brownish corpse whose shrunken, leathery skin is pulled tightly over the framework of the body. It is also characterized by brittle and torn skin. The process of mummification occurs naturally in hot, dry climates and is seen, for example, in bodies buried in the sand, for example, dessert environment. It may also occasionally happen in temperate regions, if conditions conducive to mummification are met locally. For example, new-born babies concealed after death may become mummified, mainly because of the very low levels of bacteria their bodies contain. Mummification of adults in temperate climates is rare but may be found in bodies that have lain concealed for long periods in places, such as cupboards or under floorboards, where there is circulation of dry air. Dehydration before death may contribute to the process of mummification.

Wow, the backs of both of his hands were bruised and cut up with Band-Aids on them. interesting. And WHY was his cell phone found at a Sarasota Starbucks on the other side of the state!? Was that intentional or did he just forget it. U know what he’d have to pass right by to get there?: the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Tampa, the same one that military wife visited the day she killed both of her kids.

The neighbors said one of the windows was open. Maybe to air out house. And if SIL called on Christmas and TT said they were all asleep n didn’t let her speak to anyone, can’t we assume they were all probably dead by then. If the last time anyone saw the family was on Dec 15 how do we know they weren’t killed weeks before Christmas? Does the autopsy give an approximate TOD?

So odd the boys mattress or mattresses were in his room and that he just sat there for weeks with bodies. Maybe he snuck out during the nights, on foot so neighbors wouldn’t see, walked over to his condo, got the rented SUV and drove somewhere. If window was open as neighbors say, I’m surprised scavenger insects, animals and birds didn’t enter house. And why did he rent an SUV instead of a smaller vehicle. Was it to bring stuff from CT, or to take family somewhere. And interesting he left his car at the Hartford airport. I wonder if he drove the SUV to Fl or flew.

Some surmise that the bruises to the back of hands were due to short hospital stay after his arrests when he admitted to taking an overdose of benedryl. Would line up with iv and blood-drawn areas.

Well that's interesting in regards to a window being open. That wouldn't line up with one of the boy's legs starting to mummify -- insects would be all over that room. I'm still trying to figure out that state of decomp with the electric being turned off when we were reaching temps in the 80s during that time.

The boys had a concert recital around the 15th. Photos were taking, awards were given. :(
But I do have a feeling they were killed very shortly after.

I thought that was a photo of him being transported away from the house though when first arrested, no?

good post. Not sure which window was open or if he shut the bedroom door, etc. Maybe it was a downstairs window.

upload_2020-1-27_16-26-52.jpegInteresting he would buy tank outright n not lease it. If this is the sole reason for his indebtedness why all of the secrecy and why wait til it came to this dire point. If his wife had known how bad it was I’m sure she would have cancelled private music tutors And sought out a cheaper rental long before being murdered. So tragic. And why kill your family if you are the one who made the wrong financial decisions. So many people get into debt. There has to be a better way to deal n come out on the other side than killing your whole family. He may have seen them as partially responsible for the debt as well, ie tuition, etc. Will be interesting if his motive is ever made known. Was he trying to spare them embarrassment and a life of abject poverty, or was he enraged that their spending as well as his own brought him to this point.
