[Cathy] Terkanian [Aundria's birth mother, who had hoped someday to reunite] prefers to use the name she gave her daughter, Alexis, but sometimes slips and calls her Aundria. She doesn't correct people who use "Aundria." Either way, after the adoption was finalized -- Terkanian didn't know anything of the adoptive parents -- she'd hoped to one day reconnect with her only child, but was content to wait for her daughter to reach out. The call from the adoption agency nearly a decade ago, though, was not what she expected.
Instead of a request for a reunion, the woman on the other end of the call told Terkanian police wanted her DNA to idenitfy the remains of a girl's body found in Racine, WI. Carl Koppelman, a volunteer with the DNA Doe project, had suggested to police the body may have been Aundria's.
According to the Allegan County Sheriff's Department in a press conference just held about 30 minutes ago, skeletal remains have been found under a concrete slab on the Allegan County Michigan property of Dennis Bowman, following information obtained yesterday.
First thought, wow, he has a conscience. Second thought, no, what's in it for him? He is fighting extradition. VA has the death penalty, Michigan doesn't.
This is bittersweet. I'm glad Alexis will finally get a proper burial. I know she knows her bio mama and the online community made this happen.

Rest In Peace Aundria. You were never forgotten and so many helped to make sure that your story never went untold. Your mother, Cathy, never gave up in the fight for answers in your case and know justice will be served!

I knew it. Where is Brenda's statement? She turned a blind eye to protecting her adopted daughter. Will Brenda face any charges? Imo, she should. She knew what kind of man she msrried, yet she chose to allow him to be alone with their adopted daughter. I wonder, was she still residing at the property where Dennis buried Alexis remains, when those remains were discovered?
