Assertion based on what the operatives in the bush had told him, maybe. The point being PS lied in the official police interview on the 16 August. When he was told just 2 weeks later on the 5th October, that there were photo's of him stopping near the suit and he was left to think about things. He started muttering about white top....all recorded by the surveillance in the home. The next day he phoned Jubes personally to correct his version, which is also recorded. I am wondering how long before the recording on the 5th were reviewed.

sorry SoSo - just checking the calculations of 2 weeks from 16th Aug to 5th October :)

not disputing otherwise - it’s all too confusing & sad for me.

This statement was in the article they printed on the weekend….. on 12 Feb .. paywalled article... same article that mentions the Viagra.....

Full disclosure here: we have hired Jubelin as a journalist, based on his vast experience in investigation, his history of fascinating cases and his storytelling panache.

WOW & awesome. I didn’t see that. Go Jubes :)

:confused::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Indeed an example is the creep who took little Kamille McKinney.
Even if we play devils advocate and assume the viagra was purchased for PS private use and not to molest small children - who would he be using it for? Wasn’t poor Heather quite unwell?
Actually answered own question. She was well enough to go to Bingo.

umm .was she though, well enough ?

Who else, other than PS, have we had substantiate the fact that HS went to Bingo that morning ?
.

They are quite similar types aren't they?
Tinker Taylor,

IMO they're similar in that they're both 4WDs, but I don't think one would be mistaken for the other if they were different colours. And IMO neither of them resembles a grey station wagon, and neither of them would sound like a station wagon - which is the type of vehicle which the Daily Telegraph now says was owned by both MFC and PS at the time: the "daddy's car" which William was supposedly running towards when his sister supposedly saw him.

I'm so glad for information about the DT articles since I can't read them.
JLZ,

If you can't read the articles because you don't have a subscription (is that what you mean?): have you tried accessing the articles via links in DT tweets? I was able to read both of the links below - one per day or thereabouts - despite not being a subscriber. Maybe it's a type of guest entry made available for certain articles? (Clear cookies and history first. And in my experience the site will redirect to a Subscribe page if you try to refresh the article or view any other articles.)

Why did PS not go pick up his poor brother as was planned. He was packed and ready to go.
I am just wondering how we know PS's bro was all packed up and ready to go home? I don't believe we have been told the details of PS's phone conversation with his bro early that day. Is it not possible he may have said he's not quite sure yet if/when he will be released to go home by his doc, but perhaps PS said he'd come anyway? The conversation really could've been anything. And we found out during this trial IIRC, that there in fact was a later phonecall that same day, I think around 4pm if I'm not mistaken? Maybe the bro got out, maybe he had to stay another day or so, maybe he had other offers to pick him up and take him home, etc. imo.

The problem I have with PS being a POI is that it took three years for him to even appear on their radar..
surely if he was a viable suspect, there would have been red flags raised a lot earlier.
I hope he is not being made a scapegoat, to me the “ evidence” against him seems flimsy at best.

Surely we would've heard about it if HS had not corroborated PS's statement of her going to bingo? IIRC we hadn't known for sure whether or not HS had made an official statement before she died half a year later, but I think during this trial, drsleuth informed us that she understood from the inquest that HS indeed did make a statement and within days IIRC. Considering their proximity to FGM's house and the fact that HS left the neighbourhood around the same time FD arrived home, I'm hoping police also would have looked for her vehicle on the CCTV at wherever it was set up. Sorry I can't remember the name of the place. imo.

There is a very long SMH article that says that it was junior officers who did not find Savage to be a POI.
These same officers were the ones who made Jubes feel unsupported by some of the team.
Jubes felt the junior officers were angry at being seconded to Rosann as they were missing out on opportunities for advancement in other areas.

Sounds to me that a whole bunch of politics was going on within Rosann.

Would Detective Sergeant Craig Lambert be considered junior? I'm not familiar with ranking and how that relates to senior and junior, but he was the officer in charge of the case, I would've thought to have that role he wouldn't be considered junior.

I don't know, but I would guess that Jubes is referring to people like the junior officers who spoke against him at the trial. Like the one Jubes excluded from a briefing about Savage.

I get the impression that Jubes is okay with officers who disagree with his opinions. It is the trouble makers who would rather not follow his directives who brought him angst.

Though, we are speaking of a young child here. A little girl who tried to explain what she saw in the best words she could find.

William was watching for daddy, ran to a vehicle that resembled daddy's new vehicle.

His sister may have been unsure if that was daddy's vehicle (being a little older) so hung back.

I remember the words 'William was lifted by his shoulders and placed in the vehicle'. Who was it who said that... Jubes or foster mum? Someone who had an idea of what may have happened IMO.

A little confused. I haven't been able to open the telegraph articles - not sure what's in them. Was PS muttering (in recordings) about the white top, spider suit etc - before he was made aware that it was a gimmick?
