Search underway for missing 85-year-old Virginia man

85-year-old James “Jimmy” Jenkins, of Brightwood, Virginia, was last seen on Tuesday around 6 p.m. He was reported missing around 5 p.m. Thursday.
  • Mr. Jenkins was last seen wearing jeans and a black & white flannel shirt.
  • Authorities believe he could be driving his blue 2000 Chevy S10 extended cab pickup truck with Virginia tags JXM-1011.
  • The MCSO has received information that Mr. Jenkins traveled to Culpeper on Wed morning and never returned back home to Madison County.
  • Mr. Jenkins is in need of medication.

Circumstances of Disappearance Mr. Jenkins was last spoken to on the evening of 02/04/2020. His nephew spoke with him on the phone. He was seen having breakfast by citizens and employees at the local tastee freeze. Mr. Jenkins goes by the name Jimmy. A friend attempted contact with Jimmy starting on Wednesday 02/05/2020 with no contact. She went out to his house and his blue 2000 Chevrolet S10 pickup was gone. On Thursday, Jimmy's nephew went to his house because he didnt answer the phone for the daily check in. He found the note that the friend had left the day before. Jimmy has not been back to his residence and no one has seen or heard from him. His vehicle is still missing as well. The tag for the vehicle is JXM-1011

  • Tips have been received from Charlottesville, Culpeper and Spotsylvania, which have been unfounded.
  • The MCSO continues to seek the assistance of the public.

  • Aerial searches were conducted this week by professional drone operators and a Virginia State Police Aircraft.

Dang it , Godspeed Jimmy Prayers for family and friends. They will be missing you at breakfast I'm sure. Hoping his passing was peaceful.
