Good! Glad some of these old programs our grandparents and gr grandparents generation came up with are still in effect. They had been through two world wars and similar pandemics. They knew how to set up our government to plan ahead for these contingencies. It's a shame some of our leaders have let these good emergency planning programs fall by the wayside. Kick em out and restart sensible plans again.

@gitana1 thank you so much for your response to me in the last thread. Saying that we know ourselves and we have to do what is best for us (in terms of travel) was very helpful.

We are taking it day by day in our decision of whether or not to go to NYC. I know that is apalling to some, and I understand.

You're welcome! I don't think it's appalling. Frankly, unless we hide in our houses 24/7, it can be acquired anywhere. You're an educated, intelligent adult. You can make a decision for yourself.

Does anyone wonder if the 6th and 7th in line to the English throne, Prince Harry and Archie, have been moved off to a remote Canadian position recently as a precaution? Have we been scammed about the whole family drama? It seems to me that the elderly Queen and her husband are at high risk with CV19, and even heir apparant Prince Charles is 71 years old.

I doubt anyone on this thread seriously thinks that the last two years of Prince Harry and Archie leading to now that they have been moved off to a remote Canadian position recently as a precaution due to COVID. I also don't think that COVID-19 and relating to such is anything about being scammed about the whole family drama.

Oh, sorry! I just realized this must be a sarcastic post as anyone who thinks that is ludicrous MOO.

Yes, the Queen and her husband are high risk as is Charles. May they be protected from harm and Godspeed.

JetBlue passenger diagnosed with coronavirus flew 'knowing' he could have virus, airline says

Glad to see JetBlue ban this passenger for life from flying on their airline as the decision to fly could have adverse impacted many on board the flight.

I do wish the Federal Govt would step in address the issue of people behaving in ways that jeopardise the health of their fellow citizens.

Quotes from article:

A passenger on a flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Palm Beach, Florida, has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

The plane landed around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The crew and 114 passengers were stuck on the tarmac for hours as health officials spoke to everyone on board.

Passengers who were near the infected person were given instructions on how to monitor their health over the next few days. They were allowed to leave the airport without seeing a doctor.

"At this time passengers in the vicinity of the positive patient were advised of monitoring procedures," Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said in a statement. "The rest of the passengers were released to go home" and given directions to call the health department with any medical concerns.

JetBlue said the infected passenger flew on the plane despite "knowing he was awaiting results for a coronavirus test" and that he didn't disclose this to any airline officials.

The passenger, the airline said, is permanently barred from all JetBlue flights.

"Last night’s event put our crewmembers, customers, and federal and local officials in an unsettling situation that could have easily been avoided, and as such, this customer will not be permitted to fly on JetBlue in the future," the company said in a statement Thursday.

Customers who are not feeling well, or who believe they may have COVID-19 should not travel until cleared by a medical professional, JetBlue said in a statement.
Airline workers in Florida sterilized the "limited containment area" where the passengers deplaned, which officials said is a separate area from the airport's main terminals.

The Florida Department of Health said the coronavirus positive patient is in isolation at this time and that those who were in close contact with him will be monitored and contacted by county health officials.

Back in New York, airline workers conducted their usual twice daily "enhanced cleaning protocols ... of all common and high-touchpoint areas with EPA-approved and CDC-endorsed antiviral disinfectants, in addition to overnight deep cleaning of all terminal areas," according to a statement from the Port Authority on Thursday.

Additionally, "JetBlue immediately commenced additional cleaning of the Gate 7 area, where the flight departed, as well as surrounding gates, the security checkpoints, check-in counters and kiosks, elevators, restrooms and any other area the passenger went through based on security camera footage," Port Authority said.

"The health and safety of our customers and crew members is our top priority," JetBlue said in a statement on Thursday. "We’re asking customers who do not feel well or are concerned they may have coronavirus to not fly until cleared to travel by a doctor or health professional."

Why was he even allowed to board when he was ill with COVID-19?

CDC WORSE CASE SCENARIO....if no actions taken to slow transmission. THEY KNEW THIS LAST MONTH...

Between 160 million and 214 million people in the U.S. could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.’s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the U.S. could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nation’s medical system, which has
only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds. Fewer than a tenth of those are for people who are critically ill.

Worst-Case Estimates for U.S. Coronavirus Deaths

And yet the courts over here in CA are still open - "business as usual." One of my colleagues said she'd feel safer at a packed Disneyland than in the court.

I really don't know what to do. No call back from court yet.

I am kind of surprised Dr. Fauci Is standing so close to Trump and Pence as they have both been exposed to several people who have tested positive. He probably has too?
I think we’ve all been exposed via contact chain. If we were in public at all since it arrived in the US, how could we escape exposure. Posthumous tests show it was here much sooner than thought. Anyone that has been to a store, gas station, restaurant, doctor, hospital,
dry cleaners, bar, casino, office complex, airport, public transportation station, and on & on, was likely exposed is
My opinion. How can it be any other way?

Are playdates okay? The HSE's advice on social distancing for children

(Ireland)CHILDREN ACROSS THE country will be learning in their homes for the next two weeks, with all schools and childcare facilities closed as part of measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Yesterday the Department of Education said all students, from pre-school to third level, are urged to practice social distancing and to minimise physical contact with each other.

“This should include minimising social contact, avoiding meeting up and keeping physical space between them. Parents and guardians are urged to support their children to maintain this approach,” the department said.

We just got news my granddaughter, 9 yrs old, is negative for Coronavirus but positive for Influenza B. She has an extreme case, very ill. She is highly contagious. So far other family members are okay but may show signs earlier next week. Doctors were really sure it was Coronavirus and surprised them with the test results.

So everyone besides Coronavirus these is Influenza B and A That also are just as serious for people.
