On 4/23/20 at 2106 hours Alaska State Troopers received a report that a backpack, fishing poles and a loose dog were found near the waters edge of Hidden Creek Trail in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The following day AST responded to the area with US Fish and Wildlife officers and located the items. Investigation revealed the items belonged to Michael Crawford, age 39 of Homer, who was camping and recreating in the area. Crawford's vehicle and camper were located and he was not with either of them. Crawford was last heard from on Wednesday 4/22/20. USFW officers, Alaska Wildlife troopers, Alaska State Park rangers, AWT aircraft, AST Helo 3, the Alaska Dive Rescue Team and Crawford's friends and family have been conducting coordinated searches in the area. As of 4/26/20 Crawford has not been located.

This is not sounding good - he left his dog loose, and his backpack and fishing poles were found near the water's edge, He also left his vehicle, and his camper. Michael has now been missing for a month.

Here is the location on google maps, but it doesn't have the hike itself marked. I wanted to see where the trail was in relation to roads and towns. I put a marker on Hidden Creek, and the trail parallels the creek to the west, the trailhead is by Skilak Lake Road, and proceed south from Skilak Lake Road (I highlighted the full length of the road):
