NC - Fort Bragg Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez, 21, Cape Lookout, 23 May 2020 *severed head washed ashore*

Joskovitz died in some sort of accident. It was investigated. It happened on Halloween. It might have been drinking-related. There was an investigation. But there are no details. His family must have some idea of what happened to him. It seems that the other two died in the barracks, too. But I see no information on the cause. It might be good for Kiki's sister to contact those families.

Drinking-related deaths leaves identifiers. The purpose of an autopsy is to identify the cause.
Seems like its "Under Investigation" next......

Even in drinking deaths, there are investigations to discover the circumstances around things. But we don't know what happened in any of these deaths. One was said to be an accident. That could be a slip and fall, carbon monoxide poisoning, choking on vomit, etc., etc. The question is whether any of those could have been purposeful or the result of neglect by others.

We know one case is Homicide/Murder now the question is how many more are? and Are they linked?

There could be implication of Insurance fraud, drugs there is no telling until the investigation is completed, which is the problem.

Because ERM was a Human Resources Specialist he had access to peoples personal records. "IF" something was going on then him
leaving the Army could present a problem for whom ever..........

Rep. Torres to Mothers of Ft. Bragg Soldiers: Demand Your Child Speak Out About Roman-Martinez Murder

July 29 2020

Congresswoman and Fellow Military Mother Pleads for Them to Help Deliver Justice
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) today delivered an impassioned plea for information from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to the mothers of seven soldiers who were present on a camping trip on May 22nd when Fort Bragg Paratrooper Enrique Roman-Martinez went missing.

Key excerpts:

“We don’t know what happened that night…but what we do know is it cost Enrique his life. And the seven people who would seemingly have a lot of explaining to do – remarkably – had nothing to say.”

“If you are the mother of one of those seven young soldiers…say something. Talk to your son or daughter and demand that they speak out. Lawyering up is not enough.”

Rep. Torres to seven Fort Bragg soldiers: “Your silence is not acceptable.”

FBI helping Army investigators try to find who murdered paratrooper

FBI agents and Army investigators are trying to determine who killed a Fort Bragg paratrooper. The soldier was camping over the Memorial Day weekend.

Part of Roman-Martinez’s body washed up on the beach a week later. A coroner has ruled his death a homicide, according to his family.

The statement released by the 82nd said division officials have actively worked with the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. Park Rangers, and Army investigators. The 82nd wants to determine what happened to Roman-Martinez and “bring those responsible to justice,” it said.

State and local law enforcement agencies also are involved, the statement said.

Army Criminal Investigation into Paratrooper’s Death Continues

Here is another recent article...

The investigation into the death of Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez remains a priority for the 82nd Airborne Division and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.

Since his disappearance, the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) has worked actively with multiple agencies including the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and U.S. Park Rangers to determine what happened to Spc. Roman-Martinez and bring those responsible to justice.

Military Times shared a video on the inconsistencies of events around ERM’s death.

I seriously doubt there's anything related about the deaths at Fort Bragg. There are about the same number of people there as in my city and there are deaths that are investigated here with about the same frequency as there. If 90% off the population were between 20 and 50 years old like at a military base it would probably be higher.

I think what we're seeing especially in this case is just military thinking. Those people camping on the island are brothers in arms and they're not going to willingly testify against one another. Then at the bureaucratic level, the military at large is going to try to minimize the sensationalism of the story as much as they possibly can. Sadly I think it's pretty likely there will never be an official public accounting of what happened.

FBI Will Investigate Homicide of 21-Year-Old Soldier Enrique Román Martínez

The FBI announced on Thursday that, along with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, it would be joining the investigation.

To Note from article:
••“I was able to find the medical examiners office and ask them what made it a homicide, because I had asked the army investigator at the time and he couldn’t tell me,” Griselda (sister) said. “They said it’s nothing the ocean could’ve done, only a person with a weapon.”

••The family has yet to hold a funeral for Román Martínez, as officials still have his remains in their possession.

Emotional vigil held for murdered soldier from Chino

Aug 9
It was an emotional evening for relatives and friends attending a vigil in Chino for Enrique Roman-Martinez.
The 21-year-old and seven fellow soldiers from Fort Bragg were camping on an island on North Carolina's outer banks when he disappeared. Days later his partial remains washed ashore. Loved ones still don't know how Martinez died.

"The seven individuals that went with my brother have still not given any clues or anything to what could have happened at all," said his sister Griselda Martinez.

Army investigators told the family they have no suspects but are determined to bring those responsible for Martinez's death to justice.

Congresswoman Norma Torres organized the vigil. She's fighting to get answers for the family.

A chorus of All-American paratroopers put on a stunning tribute for a fallen soldier at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on Wednesday with a powerful rendition of “Amazing Grace."

The performance was in honor of Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez, whose remains washed ashore at a national park on May 29. An investigation into the paratrooper’s death is ongoing.

At the memorial ceremony in Fort Bragg, soldiers affirmed their commitment to the investigation.

"Losing a Paratrooper is heartbreaking, but the effects of that loss are exponentially greater when caused by an act of senseless violence," the 82nd wrote on its Facebook page in a post about the ceremony. "Even as we mourn, we will not stop in our pursuit of justice until it is served."

At the end of their performance on Wednesday, the 82nd Airborne chorus fell back into formation. The only sound was their boots as they marched off the stage.

'Justice for Enrique' vigil held at Ayala Park

“Every day it hurts. Because every day that goes by, my brother is gone. I can’t call him. I can’t tell him about the crazy things going on in this world. He was my best friend and he’s gone.”

Griselda Martinez fought back tears as she remembered her 21-year-old brother and U.S. Army paratrooper Enrique Roman-Martinez at a community vigil.

More than 150 people attended the vigil, including Congresswoman Norma Torres, who has spoken about Spc. Roman-Martinez' death on the House floor in Washington D.C.

Griselda Martinez said the family is planning a funeral for Saturday, Aug. 22, and are scheduling a protest on Sunday, Sept. 6, a day before Mr. Roman-Martinez’ 22nd birthday.

ERM was laid to rest Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Rest In Peace ❤️

Growing up, baby brother Enrique “Quique” Roman-Martinez imagined himself as the heroic blue Power Ranger, beating the bad guys, saving the day and driving his older sisters crazy.

Born in Pomona and raised in Chino, he was youngest of three children. He was funny, kind, calm and spiritual, family members said, and often described as a peacemaker.

So it stunned his family when at the age of 17, he decided to join the Army. He had graduated early from Buena Vista High School, and though he was known for playing video games and making his sisters watch his beloved anime series, he had big plans to provide for his family and his future by joining the military.

Enrique was part of the Engineer Battalion of the 37th Brigade, the Combat Team of the 2nd Brigade and the 82nd Airborne Division.

In the four years that Enrique served in the Army, he became a paratrooper and a human resources specialist, and served as part of the Immediate Response Force — a role that meant he could be deployed anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice.

For his work, he was lauded with commendations such as the Army Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Basic Paratrooper Badge.
