Some of you were asking if anyone reported that Leila was actually driving the truck.

News report says:

"Family said the Police found the white Chevy pick up truck (Leila) was last seen driving," Local 10 news reporter Siara Anwer reported. BBM

“I have no knowledge of where the truck come [sic] from. Last time I knew, she had a car,” Carol Ferdinand said.

The authorities are being really tight lipped about this. I think it is because they ARE reviewing everything (cameras, truck, etc.) and they DO have something but they don't want to jeopardize the case by telling too much. MOO. But I haven't heard them say anything about her being kidnapped.

All I have heard CONFIRMED is, "
"Police said the 21-year-old Leila Cavett was last seen in Hollywood and they believe she's in danger".

So I guess I just answered my OWN question. This news article actually says she was last seen in Hollywood.

Gatherer's notes: Leila was last seen in Hollywood, according to police and news reports. This MSM report says she left Alabama, that is not correct. She left Georgia. But her license is from Alabama, so this will probably be an ongoing error made by reporters and police. Her family from Jasper, Alabama and Tennessee have traveled to Hollywood, Florida to look for her. Leila's maternal grandmother lives in Dawsonville, Georgia. No news reports to date, have said the maternal grandmother is in Florida.

Moo, based on her history some would chalk it up to some sort of nefarious behavior on her part. But LE believes she’s in danger and they are the ones reviewing her digital data and surveillance footage. Unfortunately, I believe she’s in danger.

I believe she met someone online via Facebook and took them up on the offer to come visit Florida. He probably paid for her to get there (sent her gas money etc) and then once they met he probably wasn’t exactly what she had thought for lack of better terms, and things went south. He ditched the kid and poor Leila is victimized.

Unfortunately for him, there will be a plethora of evidence against him and it’ll be a matter of time before he’s spending the rest of his life in prison. What a waste

I really don't know why someone would pay to bring her and her son all the way to Florida just to kill her. I mean if the motive was just to kill I'm sure they could have found women right there in Florida without having to pay her way down and leave a trail of evidence behind her. However, then you have the human trafficking side of things would traffickers target her over the internet and pay her to go to meet them knowing she had a child with her? I just don't know it seems to me again they could find a more cost effective target and less risky target...

Hi, jumping off your post, what jumps out to me re: your above quote is maybe “they wanted Leila”. Like JP wanted Jayme Closs. He wanted Jayme, and would go to any and all lengths to get her.

tbh if this ends up being the case I'd be so annoyed and pissed off if I was her family that LE did not release a picture of possible suspect. Even if it doesn't show their face you could identify a bit by clothing and vehicle.

What I think is maybe she has whats app which you can make and receive calls but only with wifi or data plan. I think that even if the phone is off you can still get a ringing tone when calling through WhatsApp even if the receiver's phone is off. Could be why they said the phone just rings when they call. Where as with a normal call, phone will go to voicemail or hangup.

Actually now I'm even more worried cause then it's harder to trace her phone.

I would like to know that too. I know (if I am not mistaken) some apps you can delete and once deleted they can't be tracked. Leila I would think didn't delete them if she was still communicating with family. I was thinking then whomever she is with could have deleted the apps. at a later time to try to erase the messages and whatnot.

When Leila first went missing I heard family was still trying to reach her and the phone was ringing I believe and going to voicemail. If it is still going to voicemail wouldn't the apps. still be on there?

Wonder if anyone was ABLE to even leave a voicemail? And if they WERE deleted by now could they STILL be tracked?

I don't believe for one minute that Leila is hiding.

If she didn't want to be found for whatever reason and not want to call LE to say she's ok, I believe she would have called a relative about her son....whatever happened beforehand and for him to be on the street, even if she was somehow responsible (which I don't believe anyway)

I don’t believe she is hiding either, not if she’s down here. Even if she met up with someone down here, she’s not familiar with this area and I don’t see someone she met for a hook-up or to party with helping her hide this long.

I don't think for one second that Leila just went off grid and abandoned her son. She seemed to be a very caring, careful mother. Kamdyn was not the scruffy little urchin type child. Bright, healthy and full of beans, he was. And it also sounds like that even if she did have sporadic phone access, she still made an effort to stay in touch. I've very frightened for her and I dearly hope LE knows what they are doing and are proceeding with great caution to keep her alive. I suspect she was lured there under the premise of romance or a job and stability and even if it started out with all the best intentions, something went horribly wrong.

I hope she comes home safe to her little boy.

Like, I know that the Police don't need to tell us anything, and I absolutely don't doubt that they are working hard - but it would be good to know whether the Walmart angle is confirmed or not. I stopped by a FB group and the nutty speculation was out of this world.

Hi, I'm new here, so forgive my "newbie" skills. I joined this group because this case is really bothering me. I'm a mom myself. The poor little boy and his young mom... what could have happened? I live in South Florida and saw the first reports on the news and was heartbroken for the family. This area is a hotspot for human trafficking and that would explain an abrupt departure and the long drive. She may have been groomed and lied to by a trafficker. I'm wondering if anyone is looking for her on escort sites?

Okay ringing, yah so that means nothing, phone could be destroyed and it will still ring.

Don't have a good feeling now I know she did not have service, I thought the ringing was a good sign as the phone could be tracked but if it's just wifi not sure.

Holding hope but not looking good. The more I think about it, the more I feel she could not have been that much of a hardcore drug user, based on her care for Kam, her pregnancy.

Also if its true she was caught doing crack and was kicked out by the relative, didnt they think it would be unsafe for Kam?

This is why I don’t think she “just took off in the night”
as stated by her Father.

I think she had made plans with someone she had been talking to for her to move to Fl for employment or a relationship.
She probably wanted a SUV or the Truck especially for that purpose.

If Cavetts family hadn’t talked to her for two weeks prior to her “up and leaving” they were not involved in her everyday life while she was trying to support herself and Kamdyn.

“Cavett’s family told reporters they last spoke to her about two weeks ago.”

“I FaceTimed her on July 17. We were on the phone for about an hour and she was fine,” one of the sisters said. “She didn’t have any plans to come to Florida, so we’re very confused right now.”
