Man charged with stalking focus of probe into missing Kenosha resident

Zachariah Anderson, 39, is being held on $35,000 bond, charged Thursday with stalking his former girlfriend and her new boyfriend, Rosalio Gutierrez Jr.

According to the criminal complaint filed in the stalking case. Kenosha Police were called to Gutierrez’s apartment on the 3700 block of 15th Street Tuesday. The woman Gutierrez was dating met police there, telling officers that she had not seen or heard from Gutierrez since Sunday and that she had gone to his apartment to check on him.

A criminal complaint said Gutierrez did not report to work on May 18 or 19. The woman said she went to his Kenosha home on May 19 and the patio door was open, furniture appeared to have been moved around, a rug was missing and there appeared to be blood on the floor and furniture. She then called police.

Investigators found both of Gutierrez’s vehicles in the parking lot — and large amounts of blood in his apartment, the complaint said.

Rosalio Gutierrez Jr., 40, has not been seen or heard from since May 17, 2020. Rosalio is known to close friends as “Junior”

Rosalio was last seen on May 17 and failed to show up to work on May 18 and 19, according to court documents obtained by Dateline. The court documents went on to state that a woman whom Rosalio had been dating conducted a welfare check at his home on May 19 where she found large amounts of blood. Both of Rosalio’s cars were parked outside of the apartment and the patio door was open. According to court documents, it appeared that things in the apartment had been moved around. The woman called the police who responded to the scene.

“It appeared that there was some type of physical altercation that had occurred inside the apartment,”

Lieutenant Nosalik confirmed that the Kenosha Police Department continues to investigate Rosalio’s suspicious disappearance.

On May 20, 39-year-old Zachariah Anderson, the alleged ex-boyfriend of the woman Rosalio was dating, was arrested on stalking charges. Lieutenant Nosalik said that his arrest is not officially connected to Rosalio’s disappearance at this time. According to court documents, Anderson had allegedly engaged in stalking behavior of both Rosalio and the woman he was dating. She reported concerns about Zachariah Anderson’s previous stalking behavior on the day she discovered Rosalio had disappeared.

Rosalio’s mother Selia, who graduated with her master’s degree in Criminology in December and works for the Colorado Springs District Attorney’s Office, told Dateline that as painful as it is, she says she is not optimistic about the outcome of her son’s case after seeing the scene at his apartment.

I'm glad this has made some national news. I moved away from Kenosha years ago, but read the Kenosha News online quite a bit and there hasn't been any updates.

Kenosha Man's Disappearance Leads Investigators to Eastern Wisconsin

Without saying why, investigators are asking residents of Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties for help in finding a missing Kenosha man.

Kenosha police put out a news release Friday afternoon asking residents of those eastern Wisconsin counties who may have information about the case or who may have seen Gutierrez to give them a call.

Ozaukee County includes Mequon, the home of a man who was charged in Kenosha County this week for stalking Gutierrez and his girlfriend. The woman is the man's former girlfriend.

Zachariah Anderson is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and two counts of stalking. His initial appearance is not yet scheduled.
Junior's body has yet to be found.
