NY - Fahim Saleh, 33, millionaire tech entrepreneur, dismembered, Manhattan, 15 July 2020 *Arrest*

I mean, just because someone has a girlfriend doesn't mean everything else is off the table. Generally speaking, of course.
It does not. However, as the trial and investigation continues, it will become obvious if this is or isn't true. Saleh and his family (particularly those living nearby) had very close relationships who would be aware of such a thing.

That he did not tell them and it was credit cards leading to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator makes it seem as though they were unaware of any enemy sans for the other individual prosecuted from prior business.

The kid was 33 - in a progressive and accepting family who would go out and are extremely close. This would have been suggested in a reason as to why by any one of them he felt comfortable enough speaking towards this with. They would have accepted him any way if this was the case; nor is it any reason for a "crime of passion" as the alleged had a girlfriend at the time. Whether or not a "beard" it's never an excuse to treat anyone in that manner and subject their family to a lifetime of "if only" and heartbreak.

I assume both FS and TH's Girlfriend's life and future has changed.
FS gone forever.
TH incarcerated.
Such a loss to everyone.
It's unimaginably horrific for anyone close to this tragic case.
This is so true - I can't imagine finding anyone I love or a stranger in such a state or being involved in this dehumanizing situation. Personally, I have yet to even put together the words to express my condolences to his sister. It's unfathomable, and something you cannot forget - I think we can only hope justice prevails and gives some closure to all of those involved.

Conflicting statements between the firm saying he was not involved with them in any way and then another saying Haspil unlocking the account the bank account for them.
I think that's possibly a misprint and the journalist got the names mixed up.

I can't see Haspil having any authority with a bank. It was Saleh who had the big bank balance that would get a bank to do what he wanted.

Sister of murdered tech CEO Fahim Saleh says he was ‘put back together’ for funeral | New York Post
•Aug 13, 2020
"The sister of Fahim Saleh — the tech CEO who was murdered and dismembered inside his Manhattan apartment — posted an emotional tribute to her “beautiful” brother Thursday, revealing that his severed head and limbs were sewn back onto his body in time for his funeral. The lengthy Medium post by Ruby Angela Saleh came on the one-month anniversary of the 33-year-old entrepreneur’s grisly death. “On July 13th, 2020, exactly one month ago, my brother returned from a three-mile run and was murdered in his apartment,” Ruby wrote. “Sometimes it still doesn’t feel real that Fahim is gone. And sometimes it feels too precisely like the cruel, heinous, and unbearable reality that it is, letting me see nothing but darkness and feel nothing but piercing pain in every quadrant of my heart.”

Lengthy article, made me tear up.
Fahim Saleh: Sister of slain tech CEO pays emotional tribute to her brother - CNN
Aug 13 2020
''(CNN)The sister of slain technology entrepreneur Fahim Saleh has recounted her reaction to hearing the horrifying news that her brother had been found dismembered in a New York City apartment.

"I dropped the phone and crawled onto the wooden floor, touching its cold, hard surface with the palms of my hands. I shook my head.'No, no,' I said, my hair falling over my face," Ruby Saleh wrote in an emotional post on the blogging platform Medium.

Slain tech CEO's assistant pleads not guilty to grisly murder

"What are they saying?" I looked up at my husband. He was already crying, as if he had accepted these words about my brother as truth. His crying didn't make sense to me because this news couldn't possibly be real," she writes.
Saleh is eight years older than her brother, who was 33 when he was killed.''

"While we were growing up, I felt more like a mother to Fahim than a sister. When he was a toddler too wild to finish a meal, I ran after him with spoonfuls of rice and chicken. I gave him baths, I changed his diapers, and I was petrified the first time I saw his nose bleed." Saleh writes in her post.
"Thirty years later, I was learning that Fahim's head and limbs had been discarded in a trash bag.
"Someone had cut my brother's body into pieces and tossed the pieces into a garbage bag, as if his life, his body, his existence had had no meaning or value." Saleh adds.
"The man on the line said that due to Covid, I would have to identify my brother's body via a photo he would send to me. His message popped up within minutes. I immediately felt nauseated. "It's here," I said.''

''Our mother kept repeating, "Ok, you sleep now, baby boy. You get some rest. You sleep now."
As the cemetery workers lowered my brother's casket into the ground, my father stood at the head of the grave and shouted, "Fahim, don't go. Fahim, don't go. Fahim, Fahim, Fahim, Fahim...."

When it comes to rich victims LE agencies are really really fast to solve the case.
Faster than a thunderbolt o_O
I think it was more The fact TH is really really dumb and pretty much left a digital trail of breadcrumbs that lead the cops straight to him rather than how rich he or his victim was. I mean he may aswell left his business card at the scene going by the evidence that’s been reported so far.
“American psycho... only dumber” is what the cops described him as, I believe...

Not always....I worked with one of the close family members, who, while seemingly well off, has a lot of drive, ambitiously building a career for themselves. Not one to sit around and live off of her brother’s earnings.

In many cultures it is also custom for children to help support their immediate family depending on circumstances leading them anywhere from their native country - or simply put, the desire to provide things to those you love who have made sacrifices to ensure your own success.

I respectfully disagree that this swift arrest has anything to do with wealth, rather the accused’s fumbling with possible evidence and also, the extremely disturbing nature of the crimes involved.

Police here are not always the kind that pick and choose; with this incident there is obviously a lot of footage, receipts, etc. leading them to believe there is probable cause - or something we do not yet know about.

Even if you have millionaires in your immediate family and sick crimes are committed against you, would look pretty in the papers, etc.....it absolutely does not guarantee they’ll even so much as tweet about it.

Yes, it’s frustrating to read little blurbs or tweets about a woman’s stolen bag left unattended in a nice area of manhattan whilst getting her coffee, when your own case, disturbing to not just myself but surely to former neighbors not given any information simply gets closed without warning.

This case was front page news worldwide; myself and countless others have had terrible things occur to them that would warrant the perpetrator or perpetrators serious jail time. I’m lucky to be alive, and hope the Saleh family has a tiny bit of peace knowing such a callous, hardly imaginable act isn’t one swept under the rug.

It’s incredibly sad things turned out this way, but there is a reason people still think and talk about committed acts as they were and are sickening and heartbreaking.

Since there was very little blood, maybe the killer waited for rigor mortis to take effect? Ugh, I don't know. I'd think there would still be a lot of blood if dismembered immediately after killed.
Perhaps he drained the body into a tub/Shower or sink first, The best he could?
I mean- I'm not an assassin but if i was gonna disember somebody, I'd be overdosing them on Heparin and cutting a toe off first? Maybe going for an artery? For hopes of less cleanup?

For someone scatterbrained enough to use company cards to purchase cleaning supplies, etc. it's not likely he was in a state of mind to do something like that - however, that is of course, conjecture, and further information will have light shed upon it during the proceedings.

Depending on how one is injured, bleeding may not become apparent on the outside, rather damaging the internal organs to the point of failure. Allegedly the perpetrator had quite some time to consider next steps, so all anyone can do is surmise.

I truly do not want to sound rude, though a toe even with a blood thinning agent, is highly unlikely to cause death, nor is moving a human, even 100lbs, & unable to support themselves a struggle. If you've carried a friend home from a bar or something, you'll understand how incredibly difficult it is to even get them in a taxi.

It is a sad thing, but perhaps the man charged doesn't have true family nearby for support or readily available consolation during these especially stressful times (no....not over yet....) - to check on him when he hasn't been answering the phone amidst a pandemic, often alone or feeling alone - someone to talk through the stress and provide coping mechanisms, etc. - and we all don't know the specifics of what said accused had been going through or gone through his entire life leading up to this. I do not want to judge him, as I do not have all the facts, and conjecture at the moment seems a bit hasty. I'd like to. I really would. However, I'm not a forensic pathologist, I do not have a PhD or MD. I do know people have been acting out of line the past months (to put it lightly), and terrified for their futures.

The Saleh's would not want the wrong man convicted - especially with the gossip of some widespread conspiracy, coverups, etc. All of this is conjecture I can only disappointedly shake my head at, as well. A family that close would know of anything going on and no, they wouldn't lie under oath - for example, I'd rather give my best male (straight) friend a set of keys than my brother, and that's not just for logistics. We're just not that close! The Saleh's are a close, loving family and even should this man prove innocent I highly doubt they'll feel a sense of security in their homes, if ever.

The reporting on this case was hasty. First a sister, then a cousin, etc. found the scene, though it seems as though a haphazard attempt to conceal and clean was attempted....This is something that needs forensic specialists and will be provided as time passes. Until then, we have no information other than what is provided by actual witnesses,, people on the scene, and other forms of evidence.

Perhaps as often happens, critical information is left out from the public to help correctly identify the perpetrator, though from all upstanding sources it seems as though the perpetrator took some time. Even by purchasing birthday gifts for his girlfriend to claim it is as diversion of speculation is conjecture. Personally, I have no clue what goes on in the mind of anyone potentially capable of doing that even to even an animal - most certainly not a human being.

Well it's also possible that the dismemberment was carried out in order to dispose of him in an easier fashion. Any dismemberment was carried out after after the killing, at last 6 hours after since there was so little blood. He may have been murdered quickly, ...though the screams and noise are concerning.
Is there an incinerator chute in that building?

I mean- If I heard a power saw coming from my neighbors house followed by screams... I'd mind my business out of fear, JMO.

I've heard saws in my non-luxury building and thought, "They're installing cabinets." My mind does not think American Psycho first. But maybe it should!

I mean- The real question is what NORMAL person immediately goes "Well, I guess Ole John(Doe, obviously) in 23A is Chopping up the mailman". Real questions we ask, Here.

Herein lies a BIG part of the problem! If I spent 2 million-plus, I would expect at least one human doorman on duty at all times. For the cost of this condo, the amenities are bare bone! JMOO;)
Seriously though. If I spend that much money there needs to be legitimate security.

It turns out LE more or less instantly knew who it was:
Police were able to identify Haspil by anti-felon identification cards that were spewed like confetti in Saleh's apartment after Saleh was stunned with a Taser, the law enforcement sources said.
Personal Assistant in Custody in Beheading of NYC Tech Entrepreneur at Luxury Condo: Sources
This is because tasers release ID tags when fired:
But, unlike regular gun bullets, the Taser probes are not able to leave an identifying mark that would lead investigators back to the person that fired them.

So in 1993 the AFID system was created. Now, when many Taser guns are fired, they disperse dozens of colourful anti-felon identification (AFID) tags, which resemble confetti and are printed with tiny serial numbers. It would be very time-consuming to pick all the tags up and so inevitably the police are able to find some and trace the gun that was used.

Why Is There Confetti In So Many Taser Guns?

Hm, Very interesting.

Exactly what I was wondering. He's mighty young to have had committed other such crimes but it didn't strike me as someone freaking out over his situation and lashing out. It's kind of ... cold and calculated? Chilling.
This dude FOR SURE Strikes me as the type to kill neighborhood pets and animals.

Wondering....since the killer was Saleh's personal assistant, did he have the code to get into the apartment the second time?

I'd assume that this is the case, Similar to how somebody who frequently picks up your mail from a PO box may have a key to said box.

Tyrese Haspil - personal assistant accused of murdering his tech CEO boss - had 'troubled childhood' | Daily Mail Online

Haspil's aunt, Marjorie Sine, expressed her shock over the stunning allegations against her nephew in an interview with the New York Daily News published Sunday.

Sine said that Haspil was quiet and 'at times annoying' as a child, when he was bounced around between relatives and foster homes.

'I thought [police] made a mistake because he never showed his emotions,' Sine, 52, said of Haspil. 'His behavior, the way he was, he acted nonchalantly. He would do whatever he wanted.'

Haspil allegedly displayed that nonchalance in the days between Saleh's murder and the suspect's arrest, as a series of surveillance videos purportedly showed him strolling around Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood a mile from the crime scene without a care in the world.

Law enforcement sources said Haspil was even seen purchasing a bouquet of birthday balloons he bought with a credit card he'd stolen from Saleh.

'This guy is the new American Psycho, only dumber,' one police source told the New York Post.

Yknow, Maybe its because ive survived Considerable trauma, But hearing people dismiss legitimate murder on someone having a bad childhood drives me up a WALL. The trauma didnt do it, The person did. if trauma made people kill eachother we'd be extinct.

I would just like to say that the revelation that this was not some dramatic hitman kill as speculated but a very dumb TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD who did this over some financial theft that would be VERY easy to figure out, as they did ... well damn. And meanwhile we have an 18-year-old woman arrested nearby for another dismembered body on top of a McDonald's? What is going on with Generation Z this month?

GenZ are some savages.

All that I know after reading this is Good god- It's impressive how DUMB some criminals can be. This case has given me whiplash to epic levels.
