There's a screenshot on Bernadette's saved instagram stories "random stuff" of a text her mother sent her telling her to lie to the police about being with her all day. Text received 14th July. MOO... poor girl.... Sounds like she knew about something her mother/parents did :(

For me, the strangest thing is that both parents have been charged. I suppose one may be covering another, I doubt this is a joint plan to do away with oldest daughter. Something else happened.

Family with 10 children living in council house must have received attention from social services.

Does dad have a job? Does anyone know?
Living in a council house with two mercedes in the driveway.
I don't think that the baby would be hers. That would be her ticket to get out and have her own place and her own money with a supporting parent benefit.

That would be a week before she went missing?

That is telling. I wonder if they shared drugs with her.
ETA. Sorry. I mucked that up. I meant what Cherryautumn said, was telling.

Makes you wonder why the police were investigating them even before Bernadette went missing.

On the mother's twitter she's posted quite revealing and IMO distressing photos of her children in pain and in recovery from their surgeries. She's also set up an unsuccessful crowdfunding account and tried to get celebrities attention. And she's also reached out to local media as there's articles about her children's rare disorder, wanting people to send birthday cards to her kids etc.. I'm not linking these to respect the dignity and anonymity of the children.

MOO and quite harsh and probably unpopular opinion.. posting photos of your children in such a vulnerable state is awful, and she seems very "me me me", and it also begs the question why those parents continued to have so many children knowing they had a high chance of having the same condition that would require so many surgeries throughout their painful lives (and would be crammed into a small council house).

As for the cars, having three or four children eligible for disability benefits plus the mother likely working the required 16hrs a week to claim working tax credits, would give their family a hefty monthly income, even if the dad wasn't working.

Yeppers. IMO, there would have been some drug use going on there.

Assuming this is ok to ask, what was the disorder? And is it an inherited condition?

Yes, I would like to know that too.

Correcting myself from my previous post, it was 'get well soon' cards, not birthday cards.

"[child] has hereditary multiple exostoses, a condition which makes tumours grow inside his bones, but the tot has a rare form which means tumours also grow on the outside of his.

Last week he underwent surgery to remove three tumours which were crushing his kidney and spleen - and one which was dangerously close to his heart."

The article says three of her kids have the same condition,.

Hereditary multiple exostoses - Wikipedia

I agree with the posters before who think they were probably already involved with social services, MOO. I have disabilities and live in sheltered housing as I require day-to-day help. Social services get involved to help difficult situations which may get worse in the future, not just because they think something bad is happening in that moment. The disabled children will have had doctors and specialists looking out for them, social services would likely be more interested in the other kids who live in the house if they had concerns their needs weren't being met or living in cramped conditions. All speculation of course, I honed in on the disability aspect because of my own situation and having been taken advantage of in the past, but hopefully the police wanting to contact Bernadette about her mother had nothing to do with poor treatment of her siblings.

Those poor kids. I presume with the N.H.S all medical procedures would be covered. Would there be benefits paid to disabled children?
To have more children after three being born with this condition beggars belief.
MOO

How many children have disabilaties?

All treatments would be covered by the NHS and disability benefits for children here are quite generous. They likely would have received free adaptations to their home too.

I just found another MSM article the mum did about another one of her children with the condition, this time a girl (contains pics of child so I won't link). Apparently people stole this child's wheelchair from their shed and vandalised it so she had to be pushed to school in a pushchair/buggy. Why go to a media outlet?

What stood out to me though is this young girl has a different surname to Bernadette, her mother, and her dad SW. A different father? Article also states the other two children who have the condition in the family are younger siblings, with their condition being hereditary presumably they have the same parentage as their sister in this article. So is SW actually the father of these kids? I can't figure out the dynamics of this family and the attention seeking of the mother, I thought they were all full siblings.

These poor babies, and now having to go through all of this , their stability and family has been torn apart :(

Sarah said: " [female child] is almost constantly in pain. Her legs go to jelly and she’ll suddenly fall over, and she often says she has pins and needles in her feet.

“The most we and her doctors can do is try our best to relieve her pain, but there have been times when she’s been in so much agony she’s chosen to wet the bed rather than get up and go to the toilet.

“Because cold makes it worse, she has to wear tights and leggings under her trousers during the winter. We’re constantly battling to keep her warm enough.”

When the tumours do surface, [female child] must have them surgically removed – leading to four operations in just a year.

Because the tumours have a 50% chance of regrowth, [female child] is classified as an open case with the hospital and don’t have to worry about going through the referral process all over again every time they visit.

Sarah said: “The doctor even said, ‘I’m going to be seeing a lot of this young lady over the next ten years,’ about [female child].”

Because the little girl also suffers from osteoarthritis, it is thought she will be completely dependent on a wheelchair by the time she reaches her forties

Well spotted. I think this might end up being related to it. Definitely something dodgy going on there.

Can you link this please, I cant find it. Thanks!

I actually think this is one of the joke pictures people post. There is no way SW would send a message like that to a site which can be viewed by the general public.
If we have seen, it the police certainly have also viewed it..

It was a screenshot by Bernadette on Bernadette's Instagram. It looks real to me and I doubt SW was even aware she posted it. Unless she found out she did and that is the reason for her disappearance...
