Identified! CA - San Mateo Co, WhtMale 773UMCA, 19-25, female clothing, Nov'83 *name withheld*

Keck isn't on the exclusions. I'm intrigued that he was wearing a silver cross pendant, as was the victim. The height difference isn't that great and as you say at 16 he could still have grown an inch or two.

The necklace was the most striking similarity to me. Good to know- thanks for the response!

Looks like he will be identified soon. Pending identification according to doenetwork. I guess this is the work of dna doe since they took on the case. Exciting to follow.
At the risk of being a broken record, I am *so* convinced this is James Hires. James has a distinctive face shape that seems to be replicated in the rendering of him.

BTW, does anyone know how to determine who the original Detective on the case was so many years ago?

Amateur opinion and speculation

That's interesting they put their case in the identified if it's still pending. I wonder if their name will get released or not.
Since it's a murder case, authorities will most likely release a name. There could be someone close to the UID that knew them and could probably help authorities find a suspect.

I was just checking the DNA Doe site, and this case is still pending, but "tentatively identified" pending additional review from LE. That was almost a year ago. Those of you following the thread know I"m obsessed/convinced this is James Hire. Just now, I took a headshot of James from Namus and overlaid it with oppacity on top of the latest artist's rendering of Pillar Point Doe. I've never seen a better line up; the eyes and nose were perfect, as well as the face shape. The mouth was a bit harder because James is smiling in the actual photo, and the rendering without a smile.

If this isn't James, then he has a doppleganger.

I think the fact that James' car was found at an airport and he was last seen in San Fran in 1983 makes him a top possibility of being the UID. Are you talking about those cartoonish rendering with and without makeup?

There's a comment on this blog from someone claiming to be James' brother. It says, "the Information in about him being seen in California is wrong. This report has been disproven"
James Hires

Thank you, although this isn't an approved MSM source. None the less, interesting.

I still think it's him based on the rendering and uncanny match up to his photo/facial structure. However I have been wrong on more than one occasion when I was positive I was right! Time will tell. Whoever this Dear Doe is, I pray that his family gets closure.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Hi so um I don't think it is James W Hires as he had

" Fractured right clavicle, fractured upper left arm, discoloration on the left knee. "
I feel like if our Jane Doe had fractures and discoloration on the left knee, the case file would have told us because knowing past fractures/breaks is something HUGE to know right off the back so at least to me, I cross James off the list sadly.

I know this is a long shot but have we looked into WOMEN? It is 1983, i feel like this person could lie with a fake name possibly? I know they would still be missing but what if they changed their name throughout their life because they seemed to want to look like a woman. It sounds silly but maybe we can find something.

Here is a few cases of missing people who do look kind of like our Jane Doe

From the recon (yes a recon can only do so much...) actually they could have been Asian, Hispanic, Native or multiracial. They do not look Caucasian to me. Has an ethnicity estimate been done for them?
