UK UK - Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe

Peter Sutcliffe has confessed to the attack on Tracy Browne mentioned earlier in the thread. You can hear audio of his confession here...https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3927230/yorkshire-ripper-peter-sutcliffe-brutal-attack-tracy-browne/

YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe has confessed on tape to a brutal attack on a schoolgirl before launching his murder spree.

The killer, 71, admits he was on a “mission” to “bump off” prostitutes when he stalked and bludgeoned Tracy Browne, 14 — wrongly believing she was a hooker.

Yorkshire Ripper blinded by 'bodged' injection that aimed to clear blurriness in the one working eye of the killer who murdered 13 women

Peter Sutcliffe is now completely blind after a failed attempt to undo damage to his eyesight caused by diabetes.

The 71-year-old killer has to have a buddy wheel him around Frankland Prison in County Durham, where he has been moaning about being unable to watch TV.

An injection to clear the blurriness in his right eye went horribly wrong, with the murderer telling a friend 'they have *advertiser censored**** up my eyesight'.

Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe ’s crimes are to be the subject of a Netflix show. Bosses hope it will follow the success of its documentaries on Madeleine McCann and US serial killer Ted Bundy. Producers have visited relatives of some of the 13 women Sutcliffe killed as well as survivors. They will also speak to victims of crimes thought to have been committed by the monster – but which he was never convicted of.

"Peter Sutcliffe, one of the country's most deranged serial killers who claimed the lives of six women from Leeds , could be dead within a couple of months.

The Yorkshire Ripper was convicted of killing 13 women in total between 1975 and 1980 and is currently behind bars at Frankland Prison.

The claim about his deteriorating health comes from a prison source, who has reportedly told the Daily Star that the 73-year-old is struggling to breath and is almost blind. He is also said to have high blood pressure and diabetes.

The source said: "Sutcliffe’s life expectancy is now relatively short. He could be dead in a matter of weeks. He is in the final stages of his life and his own death is now something he is preoccupied with."

Peter Sutcliffe, the serial killer known as the Yorkshire Ripper, has died in hospital, a Prison Service spokesman said.

Sutcliffe was serving 20 life terms at Frankland prison in County Durham for murdering 13 women and attempting to kill seven more in the late 1970s.

And the apology Richard and other families have been waiting for all these years:

On behalf of West Yorkshire Police, I apologise for the additional distress and anxiety caused to all relatives by the language, tone and terminology used by senior officers at the time in relation to Peter Sutcliffe's victims. Such language and attitudes may have reflected wider societal attitudes of the day, but it was as wrong then as it is now.

A huge number of officers worked to identify and bring Peter Sutcliffe to justice and it is a shame that their hard work was overshadowed by the language of senior officers used at the time, the effect of which is still felt today by surviving relatives. Thankfully those attitudes are consigned to history and our approach today is wholly victim focused, putting them at the centre of everything we do.

The well-documented Byford and Sampson reviews fully explored many issues. However, the reports did not fully address the issue of how victims were portrayed and described, which impacted on families, friends and wider public perception.

“I offer this heartfelt apology today as the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police.”

Death of Peter Sutcliffe: Statements From Chief Constable John Robins On Behalf Of West Yorkshire Police | West Yorkshire Police

What is inexplicable is that the police were so convinced the man on the tape was the killer they discounted the testimony of survivors, women who said that the Ripper spoke to them just before he attacked, and that he had a Yorkshire accent (as did Peter Sutcliffe) not a Wearside one.

There is a new documentary out now on Netflix called The Ripper. It has 4 episodes..so you can binge it in a day.
