Australia Australia - Allecha Boyd, 27, Wagga Wagga, NSW, 10 Aug 2017 *Arrest*

Those two do not want that body found for good and plenty reasons, one of which I suspect has to do with their combined efforts to dismember, deface and deconstruct her remains before burning and burying..

It is no co incidence that neither of them can 'quite recall 'where the remains of Allecha are, and this is their ticket to perhaps a less savage sentence.

It may all fall apart if sometime in the future, and not to far into the future that it will become compulsory to produce the body of your victim before any points accrue to one's eventual possible parole hearing ever take place. There is talk of making it somewhat retrospective, but that may well be entirely at the discretion of a judge.

Justice Button will hand down his sentence on February 28.

Life, in NSW, … it's the amount of time to elapse before parole is allowed to be applied ( and not necessarily granted ) for before the Parole Board, who could not be described as any where near close to infallible as judges of human behavior...that will be the element of the sentencing hardest fought for … no parole by the prosecutor, and early parole by the defence.

And Shephard is , in criminal terms, an old lag. He is way past rehab capacity, a man of 40, well entrenched in his criminal murderous psyche. There will be talk of his capacity to change and 'grow' and 'learn' and all this cabbage but not many NSW judges would be persuaded of the potential success of this theory......

'On Monday, Shephard was described by prosecutor Trevor Bailey as an influential drug dealer in the region'...

This produced an involuntarily wry snort from me on reading this. .. being 'influential' in that region must have meant so much to Shephard , he being unable to see the irony of his influence being challenged by a young female apprentice chef.

Murdered woman's family pleads with killer to tell them location of remains

The family of a murdered young woman, whose remains have never been found, has pleaded with her killer to tell them where she is, moments before he was sentenced to more than 20 years behind bars.

Key points:
  • Samuel John Shephard, 39, has been sentenced to 27 years and seven months behind bars for the murder of Allecha Boyd in 2017
  • Justice Richard Button described the execution-style killing as callous and an "extremely grave example of the most serious offence against a human being"
  • The family of Ms Boyd say they will never stop looking for her remains

Samuel John Shephard pleaded guilty to the murder of Allecha Suzette Boyd, who was 27 when she was last seen alive in Coolamon, north of Wagga Wagga, in August 2017

According to the facts tendered to the court, Shephard shot Ms Boyd in front of two witnesses in an isolated location near Coolamon, believing she was responsible for a break-in at his then girlfriend's home.

Justice Richard Button described Shephard, at the time of his arrest in October 2017, as a mid-level drug dealer and a "very dangerous man".

He said he accepted Shephard's actions were not spontaneous but had been contemplated for some time.

"At the time, the offender was armed with a pistol that was tucked into the waistband of his pants," Justice Button said during sentencing today.

"He produced it and murdered the deceased by shooting her three or four times, undoubtedly from close range and undoubtedly with an intention to kill her.

Shephard's defence counsel did not provide evidence of any remorse for Ms Boyd's murder to the court.

"That was done on instructions, as a simple reflection of the acceptance of the offender of the gravity of what he had done," Justice Button said.

However, Ms Boyd's sister, Rhiannon, said outside Wagga Wagga courthouse today that she believed he had had a slight change of heart.

"It was really, really emotional at the end, when he got his sentence," Ms Boyd said.

"Seeing him obviously look back at our family and say he was trying to find my sister.

Reading this short precis of the sentencing, it appears , to me, that Hagen may well have been instrumental in getting Allecha up to Coolamon, on Shephards instructions, so that the matter concerning his belief that the break-in at his girlfriends home could somehow be sheeted home to Allecha , requiring him to present as Mr Tuffy of Coolamon, with his gun tucked into his pants, could be dealt with in front of the girlfriend and Hagen, so cementing his chosen position.

And that's how Hagen got himself involved. As the herder of Allecha.

And who knows, people on meth have the most idiotic fantasies, it's highly possible the girlfriend burgled herself, or had a dream about being burgled. Nothing these people say carries any weight at all. It 's all a matter of what they feel like saying, no relation to fact or truth.

27 years.... no mention of parole possibility. He will be 67. No brighter, no cleverer, but still able to skulk around.

Here's the judgement Troops

R v Shephard - NSW Caselaw

Having read this judgement, Sleuthy, one is left with the overwhelming residue of complete useless wastes of lives , culminating in murder, which led to the inevitable consequence of long incarceration, and prison records for the peripheral players..

For what? 1 oz of meth.

Surprising, to me, was the involvement of so many women of a particular low IQ , combined with colossal ego's , who appear to have orbited around Shephard, Parker, Barnett, King, and even Allecha herself ( she was expecting to be driven back to Wagga by Shephard, I found that little reveal interesting ) . Shephard seemed to have absolutely no control over these women, no way of refusing their over excited tantrums and demands. .. for a bloke with a gun in his pants, he comes across as personally weak, and feeble.

The judge repeated twice that Shephard was low the totem pole of dealers and users , which I suspected way back since this whole thing was so cackhanded, but he must have been a wretched nuisance in Coolamon, in so many ways. Nobody in Coolamon seems to be surprised.

Still. A horrible death, an outrageous murder , not even spontaneous, but in it's idiocy, actually contrived and activated as a demonstration of some fantasy power scenario.

There is something so truly horrible, in Barnett shoving her kids in the back of her car and driving at all speed up to Coolamon , having been informed that Allecha was coming from Wagga, so that she, Barnett, could confront Allecha , with Shephard's backing , about a break-in at her house at The Rock.

The Rock is a tiny collection of depressed people , who seem to have no idea why they have wound up in The Rock , about 35, 40 mins on a tarmac road to Coolamon… That is 35 to 40 mins to think about the situation... yet Barnett drove on!..

And this big gathering for a murder!.. Barnett, Hagen, King, Shephard, Parker.... astonishing!...

Detectives have refused to stop searching since her death, in a bid to give her loved ones closure.

Forensics were called in to help comb the Lester State Forest, about 20km southwest of Coolamon, and after weeks of desperately trawling for clues they uncovered skeletal remains on Tuesday.

Remains of murdered woman finally found

Finally, TGY.. There they are, Shepherd and Hagen, lounging about in Silverwater, thinking it's a done deal, no body, no further nonsense, and then whaddayaknow!....

.....This must have been the 100th fine combing of Lester State Forest , a rather unattractive State Forest, dusty, spindly, grey, brown, it doesn't have any sort of 'picnic area of natural beauty' as there just isn't much of that around, which is why it isn't over run with visitors, but it does have wildlife in it, of a protective and cranky outlook, so hats off to the searchers , it would have been horrid to be doing it again there for a second summer.

I still find it hard to believe that they just couldn't remember where they buried her, if in fact they actually did do that, or just covered her up, or what ever they did... They knew, all right.

Both reports have the same sentence inside, formal identification is still to be made - just highlighting this as this will then lead to change in thread status

“The loss of a loved one is never easy to deal with, but we hope the Boyd family will soon be able to say goodbye to Allecha,” Riverina Police District commander Superintendent Bob Noble said.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said police searched a new area of the forest that was not previously investigated.

He explained the killer was released from prison on Tuesday only to lead police back to where he buried Ms Boyd.

“It was information he provided to us yesterday that led to that location,” Superintendent Noble said.

So Shephard blabbed......well.. it was always going to be of them, eventually, particularly since in the long distance future , parole conditions rely on what is laughingly referred to among police as 'co-operative' input from the convicted. ...

And so, he did know, all along. He knew where he and Hagen shoved the body.

A fond nod to Dr SLeuth....... an outcome, some small cheer for that elusive thing called fate, that so often dogs the heels of idiots like Hagen and Shephard and those ugly women who attached themselves to Mr Tuffy of Coolamon.

Thanks Troops, a nice surprise to see that Allecha has finally been found when I just logged on :) Thinking of her family

So why did Shephard lead the police to the burial site? (I am glad for Allecha and her family that he did.)

Is he going to appeal his sentence? Showed some 'remorse' or assistance, in a bid to shave some time off his 27 year sentence? What's in it for him?

“It’s a great relief to police,” he said, but he would not comment on why Shephard had not previously been co-operative with police.
The matters have been finalised in court and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Could be that one of them, and in this case, Shephard, realised that down the track their may be a deal to be made in regard to some aspect or a sort of credit about parole... and whoever gets in first. You know how it goes.

It goes on the record that Shephard 'helped' recover the body. Along with the note on Hagen's file that he, Hagen , didn't.

Maybe him and Hagen lost that terrific bond they had, where they both kept silent up against all the odds, and this charming friendship didn't last the distance.. in other words, a big dose of Spite, coupled with Shephards natural talent for deep stupidity played his hand on impulse...

Remorse would be a bit of an embarrassment now, after all this time, no one would believe it.
