I've spent my share of time in Wakefield.... East Wakefield...Sanbornville. I love that area. I hope this young man gets home safely. It sounds like the local community is pulling for him but the RIP image is worrisome.

Massive search party combs woods for Wakefield man missing since Nov. 7 - The Lebanon Voice (therochestervoice.com)
Some 70 searchers set out on Saturday hoping to find a Wakefield man missing since Nov. 7, hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.

The search party for 22-year-old Jacob Toussaint was organized by his brother Eric Toussaint Jr. and father Eric Toussaint, who said police have told him they believe no foul play was involved and have ceased their search activity.

Eric Toussaint Sr., Jacob Toussaint's dad, holds a map showing search fields conducted by State Police, Wakefield Police and family and friends prior to Saturday's search.

[...]

... they combed a broad swath of land along the Branch River between Routes 159 and 16 all the way north to the town's transfer station.

Eric Toussaint Jr. said his brother knew the rugged terrain well from growing up here.

Volunteers gather at the Thompson Ballfields on Wakefield Street prior to beginning their search for Jacob Toussaint on Saturday.

His family doesn't know whether he harmed himself or he is just hiding out, however they don't believe he's left the area.

[...]

Another of the searchers was none other than the mother of teenager Abigail Hernandez of North Conway, who went missing after she was kidnapped in October 2013 and held captive for nine months before she was let go. ...

[...]

He said the search continues today with family and friends of Jacob going back into the Wakefield woods.

"We're not giving up," Eric Toussaint Jr. said.

Oh no! This is so sad. He had his whole life ahead of him. :( Prayers going up for his family.

From the link:

Police said Toussaint’s manner of death is under investigation, according to Ventura.

“We don’t have a lot of answers at this time,” wrote the Toussaint family, who thanked police and fire personnel for helping recover Jacob’s body. “Details regarding arrangements will follow in the coming days. While this is the worst case scenario, there is a peace that comes with closure.”

Rest in peace, Jacob.
