WINCHESTER — The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating Nichole Lain Waddell, 24, who has been missing since early December.

Waddell was last seen Dec. 9 after arriving by bus to San Francisco from her home in Virginia. She never made it to her planned destination once in California.

Waddell is 5'5", 100 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.

She also has a skull tattoo on the back of her hand, a life line tattoo on her arm & a tattoo of a butterfly with a poppy flower with the word "strength."

If anyone has seen Waddell or knows anything about her whereabouts, contact the Frederick County Sheriff's Office at 540-662-6168.

There is very little in MSM about this that I can find, there an article timed 5 hrs ago - the winchester star I think? but can't read it as I am in UK.
Hope Nicole will be found safe and found soon.

Questions: What was her planned destination? A different city? Did she have her own accommodation or was she staying with people she knew? Were those people contacted? Who saw her last, where and when? Did anyone speak to her after her arrival?
 
The missing poster states that she might be wearing the same clothes like on the first photo and that she was last seen on Dec 9. The photo in question was published on Nov 28 and was purportedly taken in SF, so she must have been in the area for 10 days before she went missing. Did she have any interaction with her friends or family between Nov 28 and Dec 9? How come that she "never arrived to her planned destination"? When did her phone go dead? Did they try to find out where it last pinged?

That almost goes without saying. Is she in NAMUS?

LE in VA needs to file it. If her family in that area doesn't report her missing, I"m not sure there would be any "case file."

It doesn't seem clear at all when she "went missing."

If LE in VA doesn't file her as missing, no one is going to remotely try to find her phone pings in CA. Lots of people travel to CA - but only a few go missing.

In reference to a post that has been removed, Websleuths is a crime forum whose members also help try to locate Missing Persons. We aren't in the business of helping anonymous people who come here seeking vague, unspecified assistance ($$ or otherwise) on behalf of a missing person.
