It will take a while, 4 to 6 weeks is a pretty standard timeline for forensic toxicology testing.

I imagine a copy of the catalog of the car's contents could help with closure but I see the person interviewed in this article is described as a "family friend" so not immediate family that would have probably already had access to it.
No any acute toxicity is not going to be detectable in bone, only compounds that were present for long long periods as the bones grew. Hair grows faster and holds up pretty well but something like carbon monoxide would need to be found in the blood, usually from the liver - the source and location of the biggest volume of richest purest blood. Potent neurotoxins can kill before they even get into the blood in very detectable concentrations, that's why they're used in espionage. A gas that kills simply by displacing oxygen and smothering its victims like helium doesn't seem amiss on a blood test. Carbon monoxide causes some signature indicators that first responders are well familiar with but it all goes out the window when a body goes unfound for many hot summer months.would carbon monoxide poisoning be detectable in skeletal remains?
