If it was Alcala, here is one is the unidentified that sort of fits for her, young, red curly hair... I can’t really tell eye color but seems dark, but light can impact that...

There is another photo of the same young woman you suggested from the Alcala series @Panhypopit . I can see some similarities with Margaret. More in some of the photos than others.

I think Margaret is very fair-skinned, and the young woman in the Alcala series has darker, hair, brows and skintone. Margaret has a scar in the center of her forehead, but I wasn't able to spot it in the photos provided. None of the photos of the young woman in the Alcala are smiling so not able to compare teeth.

WHOA....I went back to the Alcala & the Unidentified forum, and found a photo showing the teeth of the young woman in the Alcala series. I think you may be on to something here: and then cropped. LOOK!

Wow! It fits his MO to ask the girls out... light can change skin tone... I can’t tell about makeup or not re scar, or how bit the scar is like acne, chicken pox or ???

The pictures is the timeline from the Alcala thread here. So in 1978 he was incarcerated early in the year, on the Dating Game, and did murder another woman in California.

It is possible given that information.

A few things I am unsure of. I think I read the photos of the young woman in the headphones are believed to have been taken in his NYC apartment? Maybe @norestforthewicked will return to the thread? She may know, since she has written a book about the still unidentified.

I feel as though each of the photos we have of Margaret all look different. In some I do see the resemblance you found, and in others not. (Isn't that often the way? lol) I am not sure what type of scar she has, only it is mentioned a scar in the center of her forehead.

Both young women seem to have the same nostril shape, very similar teeth, and jaw/chin. I'm just not sure? There are more photos of the young woman in headphones in the Alcala forum. She has her own thread.

This can't be Margaret. It was established years ago that this apartment is in NY. Margaret went missing in Nebraska.

Thank you @norest4thewicked I thought those photos were taken in NYC, but was not sure.

Another possibility: when Princess Blue was identified as Julie Gwenn Davis, I remember posting in the related forum that Julie and Margaret looked quite a bit alike, and wondered if they may have been victims of the same person. I will see if I can find the discussion.

Hmm...OK, I guess the search function doesn't work quite as specifically as I had hoped. My basic thoughts were perhaps a trucker or someone running the highways south from Omaha to Houston area. I hope it is acceptable to still share a photo of Julie to show the resemblance. I have not heard of any progress on finding her killer.

Details of Disappearance

Holst left her residence in the 4900 block of north 25th Street in Omaha, Nebraska at 9:30 p.m. on August 4, 1977. She left a note saying she was going out on a date with a boy she had met recently.

It was confirmed that she did meet the boy; he says after their date, he dropped her off near her home. Holst has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case.

There isnt much on Margaret's disappearance. Is it possible she just ran away? I found in archived newspapers someone looking for her in the classified section. But no missing person post during that time. An article from 1986 says she was reported missing by a roommate. Makes me wonder why she wasn't reported by family.

Anyway, I asked because when you Google her name a woman's Twitter comes up and she bares a striking resemblance to Margaret as well as the age progressions done for her. She is living in Idaho and was on Twitter as recent as 2016. Perhaps she is not missing but doesn't know she is a missing person.

Stranger things have happened, but I wonder what the motivation would have been at that point in her life to have just 'dropped out'? it seems like she was pretty happy and engaged with family and friends, from what we do know of her?
