o_O Wait. I thought he was in Oklahoma? WTH is going on? Who are these three bodies?

Dear Lord, You already know. Please comfort their families as they get notified of the deaths of their loved ones. :(

It is with much sadness that the Greene County Sheriff’s Office announces a very tragic ending to the Missing Person’s investigation involving Darrell, Mayson and Kaiden Peak. This evening, the three were discovered deceased in Benton County, not far from where they were last observed and contacted by law enforcement in the Warsaw area, 16 hours prior to the missing persons report with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Thanks for your post @PommyMommy , the timeline helped. Although they were found in the same area the police had contact with him, I can't figure out what the ATM withdrawal on Saturday 2/28 in Oklahoma came from and how he got there since apparently they were on foot. I went back and reread that article and it said that it was "REPORTED ON 2/28" that he withdrew $. We don't know if he did it prior to even running with the babies. Obviously the transaction is dated and would show it. IMO

According to this article, he was at the casino on Wednesday (Feb 24), the day before he took off with the boys. :(

That article is taking me to a firefighter story. It could be me.

On a side note ; Wife has already set up a "you know what" for funeral costs. I don't think I can stomach much more. Bad few days here at Websleuths for me anyway. IMO

Winston said the father and two sons were found inside of a structure together.


The Greene County Sheriff’s Department provided a timeline of events leading to the discovery of the father and sons:

  • Feb. 25
    • Around 4 p.m – Darrell was armed with a pistol and seen driving away with the children. He was known to carry regularly.
    • Around 5:30 p.m. – A Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) trooper who stopped to check on Darrell’s disabled vehicle contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Darrell refused assistance.
    • Around 5:52 p.m. – a Benton County deputy reported seeing a man and two children walking along Highway 65. When the deputy turned around to talk to the father and sons, she couldn’t find them.
    • Around 7 p.m. – MSHP sent a trooper to the area to check on a man walking with two children, but the trooper couldn’t find them.
  • Feb. 26
    • Around 10:30 a.m. – The family contacted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to file a missing person’s report.
    • Around 12:58 – a Statewide BOLO alert was sent out for the three missing persons
    • Around 1:01 p.m. – Missing persons information entered into the system
    • Around 1:24 p.m. MSHP troopers and Benton County deputies responded and began searching for the father and sons in the places where they were last seen.
  • March 1
    • The bodies were found together inside a structure.

This is what confused me as well. I was behind on the thread and then read he was in OK and made mention he and his boys were starting *a new life*. I was hopeful for about three more posts.

It’s truly a world gone mad. I’m utterly heartbroken and cannot imagine what his mother and loved ones are going through.

This question/point is probably moot at this point, but do you think he crashed his own vehicle close to the home so his wife would come with the boys and he could take them?

Offering prayers for the repose of the souls of these beautiful little boys. As for the father, I’ll let God deal with his soul.
