A summary of everything I could find on the case, with the new information in 2020.
6 years today.
Nancy, 28, was last seen in Asheboro, North Carolina on May 20th, 2018. She had attended a kids birthday party with her daughter the day before, on Saturday, and everything seemed fine according to her friends.
On Sunday, she stopped at the home of her ex-boyfriend in the 300 block of East Balfour Avenue and dropped off their 6 month old baby. She then went to her ex-boyfriend's sister's home and asked her to help take care of the baby, she said was going to go to Mexico because her mother was sick. She has never been heard from again.
She was last known to be driving a burgundy 2001 Chevrolet Impala with the North Carolina license plate number DFD-2191. It is still missing.
Her family does not believe she would abandon her daughter willingly, she was a dedicated mother, her baby had been born premature and she was still breastfeeding. Investigators could not find evidence of foul play.
Nancy was born in Mexico along with four siblings. She relocated to the Asheboro area in 2011 with a man to whom she was engaged. Her mother said their marriage was not a good one. It did not last long and after her divorce she got her U.S. citizenship. At the time, she had worked at a local furniture factory for almost three years. By 2018 she was living in her own apartment and had recently gone through a breakup with the father of her child.
She has a small tattoo on her ring finger.

Three days later, her coworker contacted police when she failed to show up for work for a few days. Authorities conducted a welfare check and found no sign of her.
When Troche-Garcia's family in Mexico was contacted, authorities learned her mother was not actually sick, that Troche-Garcia had not returned to Mexico, and that her family was unaware that she planned to return. She did make a few calls after her disappearance, including calls to an out-of-state phone number.
No evidence was found that her car ever crossed the border into Mexico, or that she took a flight from the local airport, either.
Interviews were conducted with her ex-boyfriend, his family, and her friends and family.
Her mother Maria has traveled to Asheboro several times, meeting with detectives at the Asheboro Police Department in search of answers. She hopes a $7,000 reward for information leading to her daughter's whereabouts will help encourage people to come forward.
In January 2020, detectives gained access to Nancy’s Google account, which showed that she used Google Maps to get to a car dealership in Madison, North Carolina on the day she disappeared. Unfortunately that lead went cold, with nothing of evidentiary value being found at the dealership.
In January 2019, Nancy’s Google account was logged into at a location about 30 miles from her hometown in Mexico where her mother still lived. Detectives pulled up the location on Google maps and found what appeared to be a shack. They contacted authorities in Mexico to check out the location, but had no success.

In considering foul play, I wonder if they've investigated the man she was engaged to and moved to North Carolina with. There were interviews with her ex-boyfriend, friends and family but not there's no mention of her ex-husband and he is never called that either.
