Victim in Hamilton's latest homicide identified as 39-year-old BC man that was relocating to region
''Police have identified the victim in Hamilton’s latest homicide as a 39-year-old British Columbia man who was in the process of relocating to the Greater Toronto Area.

Police believe these suspects wanted in Hamilton murder have fled the country

"Police believe these suspects wanted in Hamilton murder have fled the country"

"He’s previously described the four as “associates.” They had known each other “maybe a year or so,” he said."
"Callender confirmed that Pratt and Karafa would have spoken before the victim came to Ontario. Pratt is from British Columbia, but had been looking to move to the Greater Toronto Area at the time he was killed. An entrepreneur, Pratt was looking at opening businesses in the area."Police don’t know why they met in Hamilton. None of them had a connection to that business. However, it was closed that Sunday and isolated with no direct witnesses. Callender said that spot “fit the needs” of why they were meeting."

A white Land Rover, seen fleeing from the scene, was later recovered in the GTA. Another car was found somewhere in Hamilton, not at the crime scene. Did one of the suspects steal the victim’s car and dump it at another location? Callender wouldn’t say exactly what police believe happened, but no one else was involved in the shooting and neither of the victims drove the car."

Might the new business have included drug sales?
That information has not as yet been disclosed however, the known victim did operate a health supplement company according to his Linkedin account.
The male suspect O had 2 business profiles on the internet. One business selling weighted blankets and another numbered company that was registered last year with no company information listed.
O's father seems to have several business profiles in Slovakia which state where his home address is abroad and also one address in Toronto.
Little has been said regarding the male suspect's background other than the fact that he was imprisoned for impaired driving and criminal negligence in the 2012 death of David Chiang.

The suspects give me Dellen Millard & Christina Noudga vibes.

More from the article Researchnut linked: Police believe these suspects wanted in Hamilton murder have fled the country

Police believe there was just one shooter and one gun involved. The murder weapon has not been found. Callender won’t say who is alleged to have pulled the trigger.

“There was some sort of planning or deliberation,” he said. Both victims were targeted.

Investigators have a good idea of why the four were meeting that day and what led to the shooting, but Callender said he won’t provide details on the motive because that is evidence in the court case.

MOST WANTED: Alleged Canadian killers, terrorists on Interpol li | Toronto Sun
''The Millennial Bonnie and Clyde — Oliver Karafa and Lucy Li — are on the lam.
Likely Europe, possibly Asia.'
''The pair are wanted for first-degree murder in the Feb. 28 Stoney Creek slaying of Tyler Pratt, 39.

The wherefores and whys of the slaying remain murky.

Earlier suggestions by the Toronto Sun that the pair had fled the country were rebuffed by cops — until Saturday when they acknowledged to a local paper, that, yeah … the designer duo had flown the coop.

Detectives aren’t hinting at where the pair may have gone. But Karafa has a Slovakian passport and Li has a Chinese passport. Both are from wealthy families.

That’s where Interpol comes in''

Yun Lu “Lucy” Li, 25, is accused of first-degree murder in the Feb. 28, 2021 shooting in Stoney Creek that killed Tyler Pratt, 39, and wounded a 26-year-old woman. Instagram

''Tyler Pratt was lying dead in a Hamilton morgue.
But the millennial Bonnie and Clyde accused of murdering the 39-year-old British Columbia man were scrambling to get out of the country.''

''Karafa’s wealthy parents live in Slovakia. The same parents who supported their son after he drunkenly slammed his luxury Range Rover into a tree on Mount Pleasant Rd. killing his passenger in 2012.''

''As for Bonnie and Clyde, they face the prospect of being hunted to the ends of the earth, always looking over their shoulder, always in fear.

Never quite knowing when the party will end whether it’s in an Eastern European hotel or a watering hole in Asia.

Cops are unlikely to let them pose for selfies when that time comes. And it will come.''

Couple wanted in Stoney Creek murder fled to Eastern Europe: Hamilton police

Karafa has ties to a number of Eastern European countries, including Slovakia, where he was born, and Czech Republic, where The Spectator has confirmed he was involved with at least one business.

Before the murder, Karafa was a part-owner of a medical supply company, HueGoGo Ltd., based out of Prague, Czech Republic.

Four days after the murder, his ownership in the company was dissolved and the business name was changed, according to public and business records obtained by The Spectator. This transfer happened after Karafa fled to Europe and on the same day Hamilton police announced and Li and Karafa were wanted.

Karafa’s former business partner declined to speak to The Spectator, but noted he had not been in touch with Karafa since March 3.

Fugitive GTA couple wanted for Hamilton murder will likely struggle to stay offline, expert says
''How do you hide out from the law when you’re attention-seeking, impulsive and drawn to social media?

That’s the challenge facing GTA residents Oliver Karafa, 28, and Yun Lu (Lucy) Li, 25, after they allegedly fled Canada for an undisclosed location in Europe following a shooting in Stoney Creek that left GTA resident Tyler Pratt, 39, dead and an unidentified 26-year-old woman seriously wounded.''

Reeks of "affuenza". Hopefully with the survivor's testimony, the punishment will fit his crime this time.

[Oliver's parole files] describe a young man with a strong sense of entitlement and little respect for the rules.

The files note how he was accused of trying to pressure a girlfriend, who was not identified, into smuggling contraband tobacco and marijuana to him while he was an inmate.

The files also note that he was suspected by prison authorities of illegal electronic money transfers and smuggling tobacco, prescription drugs and cell phones.

I may be wrong about this and hopefully one of you can see if I'm correct, but I looked up flights going into Slovakia from Canada, and it seems that you would have to land in Vienna, Austria and drive into Slovakia, near Bratislava.
This would make would sense as one of Karafa's father's businesses is listed in Bratislava.
That business is a supplier of medical coveralls and nitrile gloves.

The Hamilton Spectator article alluded to the fact that Karafa had been in Prague, Czech Republic to dissolve his part of a partnership in HueGoGo Ltd , also a medical supply company.

Again, I may be incorrect but I believe you have to show identification at each border.
They may still be in Prague which is in a major lockdown at the moment.

Just imagine, they had to cross several borders and still no arrest?

There are more court documents available from Karafa's previous conviction on CanLII. IMO , they show how far his family will go provide aid for him; even if it's illegal.

'Yea I know him quite well. I was incarcerated at the same time he was. I met him at fenbrook medium institution and he had just moved from beaver creek minimum to a medium due to him getting caught trying to smuggle tobacco in the jail. Normally people transition from higher security institution to a lower one but he went the opposite way. Also, While at medium he smuggled something in and got caught and got sent to a maximum security where he finished the rest of his sentence. He ain’t no rich kid he just flaunts and tries to make an image of him having money. He’s broke but very resourceful"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was an honest statement IMO and corroborated by court documents.

"[1] This is an application by Oliver Karafa (the applicant) for habeas corpus with certiorari in aid. The applicant is currently incarcerated at Beaver Creek Medium Institution (BCI Medium), as a result of the warden’s involuntary transfer of the applicant on June 26, 2015. Prior to that decision, he was detained at the Beaver Creek Minimum Institution (BCI Minimum).

Factual Background
[2] As appears from the affidavit of Tawnya Gauthier, Mr. Karafa’s parole officer, Mr. Karafa is currently serving a four-year, ten-month, fifteen-day sentence for impaired driving causing death and death by criminal negligence. In her capacity as parole officer, Ms. Gauthier began preparing paperwork for a parole hearing in May of 2015. As part of that preparation, she contacted Security Intelligence Officer Bobbie McMullin (the SIO) to determine if there were any security issues that Ms. McMullin was aware of. Ms. Gauthier learned that Mr. Karafa’s telephone communications were being intercepted and he was engaged in three-way calling, contrary to the regulations. Further, there was a suspicion that he was attempting to introduce tobacco and drugs into the institution through anticipated visits by his girlfriend and sister. Both drugs and tobacco are considered as contraband in Beaver Creek."
