Have you ever seen a case where remains are found and there is a high profile missing child case in the same general area, and LE will announce that they do not believe the remains are that of a missing child to put the family of the missing child and the public at ease, even though the remains have not yet been positively identified?I think even if it’s clear to responding police the sex/age/race (size, clothes or other items, remaining hair etc) they would be remiss to surmise publicly and need to wait until solid DNA or other forms of identification take place. Maybe not in the past but I think at this point in time it’s just responsible procedure. Moo
In this case the Davenport police were notified because of their ongoing investigation into Breasia's disappearance. Unless the remains are thought to be that of a child, I don't see any reason why Davenport police would have been notified.
