A reward is being offered in the disappearance of a former Tuskegee University student.

Duncan is six feet tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing black gym shorts.

Unable to find any new info...

The family said it is out of character for Duncan to not have some form of communication with his father, mother or friends for such a length of time, and they are asking the public to come forward with any information that might lead law enforcement to his whereabouts, CrimeStoppers officials said.

CrimeStoppers is asking anyone with information regarding where Duncan might be to contact the Tuskegee Police Department at 334-727-0200 or CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP.

Marquez's story was featured in Dateline's 'Missing in America'. This statement from the article stood out to me:
"Marquez, who is a native of Georgia, moved to Tuskegee to study chemical engineering at Tuskegee University. His godmother, LaTanya Davis, told Dateline their family believed he was still attending classes, but recently learned he was no longer enrolled."
@Lalipop thanks for posting the latest update; lots of valuable info in it IMO.

To Note:
•it’s out of character for “Quez” to go this long without talking to anyone, especially his mother
•his mom video chatted with her son the night he disappeared -- February 23.
•She said Marquez seemed fine, happy. He told her he was pledging to a fraternity at Tuskegee University, where he was studying chemical engineering.
•By Sat, Feb 27 his mom hadn’t heard from him, she called friends & it was determined Feb 23 was the last time anyone had heard from him.
•MD’s cell phone was also missing but his wallet was left behind at his apartment
•Tuskegee Police Department with the help of ALEA are searching for MD.
•family believed he was still attending classes, but recently learned he was no longer enrolled.
•The university released a statement that Marquez was missing, indicating that he was a student at one time and that he was last seen at his off-campus residence.
•a $1,000 reward is being offered

Questions:
•Family just recently found out MD was no longer enrolled at Tuskegee University. Just how recently? His mom states on Feb 23 he told her he was pledging to a fraternity. So did they not find this out until afterwards? How long has he been keeping this from the family? Reasons?
•What time did his mom video chat with him on Feb 23? Was anyone else at the apt during that time?
•Does MD live alone or does he have a roommate(s)?
•Have they obtained cellphone records? Pings?
•When the family calls his phone each day (as stated in article), does it ring or go straight to voicemail; is voicemail full?
•Wallet was left at his home. Is anything missing from the wallet (debit or credit card, an id, or cash)?
•Did MD have a car? A job?

Missing Person—Marquez Duncan

Although, in the ‘Dateline’ article, the godmother stated they recently found out MD was no longer enrolled at Tuskegee University, I did come across the link above. It appears the university’s PD is assisting.

The Tuskegee Police and Tuskegee University Police Department have been working with other local agencies, Duncan's family and friends, and members of the Tuskegee University community to locate Duncan.

Family and friends are holding onto hope as they continue their search for 22-year-old Marquez Duncan Jr., who disappeared from his home in Tuskegee, Alabama three weeks ago.

LaTanya (his mother) and other family members, who live in Georgia and Michigan, will be traveling to Tuskegee later this week to hand out fliers and talk with neighbors.

“Somebody out there knows something about where Marquez could be,” LaTanya told Dateline. “We just hope they find it in their heart to come forward.”

“As a mother, I’m just getting really anxious,” Tateshia said. “It’s been too long… he’s been gone too long.”

Tateshia said her mother, Marquez’s grandmother, wakes up every day and calls his cell phone, hoping for an answer on the other end.

“Our family is very worried about our Marquez,” Tateshia said. “I just want my child back.”

Friday, News 3 spoke with Duncan’s father from Douglasville, Georgia, about a missing child’s pain.

“I’m very troubled, his mother, his step-mother, we are very worried that something has gone wrong,” said Duncan.

Police say 22-year-old Marquez Duncan was last seen February 23th near his duplex along Gautier Street in Tuskegee, where he lives with two roommates.

“We are frantic. We just want some answers. We aren’t getting anything, and it’s so troubling we just need to know somehow somewhere, somebody knows something,” said Duncan.

Chief Loyd Jenkins with the Tuskegee Police Department says they are working with investigators at multiple state and federal agencies, trying to generate leads and information in the case.

Tragic Update: Body identified as missing Tuskegee man Marquez Duncan | WRBL

Confirmed Deceased

April 8

Tuskegee’s police chief confirms the body of a man discovered April 1st has been identified as a Tuskegee man who has been missing since February.

The body of Marquez Duncan was found along Alabama Avenue.

Chief Jenkins says an active homicide investigation is ongoing. A manner of death has not been released at this point. The body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.

I do not see any additional updates on what may have happened to this young man or who may be responsible for his death. Makes me nervous when weeks go by this early in an investigation with no update. If the case is still being worked as a homicide investigation I hope answers are coming soon.
