Deceased/Not Found NY - Saniyya Dennis, 19, SUNY College Student, Buffalo, 24 Apr 2021

Latisha Dennis said she got a text from her daughter at about 12:20 a.m. Sunday saying she was sorry she had missed a phone call from her mother and that she would try again the next day.

I wonder if the writing style appeared to be from Saniyya or if it's possible someone else sent the text...?

What time did she get off the bus? Was she seen on the bus? Did she purchase a ticket?

Why would she leave at night taking a bus to...meet no one? I guess I'm assuming it's too much effort if you just want to be by yourself. You could do that closer to home, without getting on a bus. I have not put a huge amount of thought into it, however.
Especially when there were on return busses until morning. She would have had to find somewhere to go in the cold most of the night. She isn't old enough to go to the casino and not much is open that late. It is not the safest of areas both naturally and crime wise.

My opinion was that she would have traveled to Niagara Falls to go see the falls at night because they are magnificent and powerful and good for the soul.
I personally don't see the idea of her meeting someone as the only possible reason she would be in that location. Sometimes people like to do things alone. Either is a possibility. IMO

I don't see her going to see the falls that late when there were no busses returning until morning. She was not dressed for long term, getting wet from mist cold weather. She is described as a smart girl. I would even go as far as to say having come from NYC she was street smart also. There had to be something or someone important she was going to. I also don't see her as heading to a party. She wasn't dressed like she was going to one. IMO she may have gone to help a friend who may have been in a bad situation but did not make it to them. Honestly with the way her family describes her I do not think there would be any other reason for her to get on a bus late at night with no return bus. Someone played on her emotions big time.

If she was going to meet someone there will be some kind of trail of communications. I get the feeling she went there with no intention of returning. Many people with suicidal thoughts still live life as usual until they choose the time. It may seem strange to others that someone would make future plans, hand in assignments ect but unfortunately in most cases that’s what happens. I’m really hoping she is just taking a break though.
Moo

Absolutely. I don't at all think she went there to meet someone, there are much better places to meet. I think she went there because she was distraught and not planning to return.

IMO this isn’t likely. I live in a suburb of the falls and know the area well. If she took a bus, she would have to walk quite a way from the stop to a place where you can see the falls like
Terrapin point or the observation deck. If the borders were open it would be different because the bridge is well lit and well travelled and many many people walk across on nice weather but that night was not very nice at all and the wind and mist down there makes it 10 times worse. I took a little drive this morning to see where the bus stops were and there’s just no way I’d walk it alone from any of them at that time of night. Had she, a park ranger or one of the numerous cameras would have picked her up. There’s no way onto the island without going by a camera

I must have missed where it was reported that she wasn't captured on camera? She made a snap of the falls, so she must have been where she could see them.

I would not doubt that SHE wasnt anywhere near goat Island or the water that night. Her phone pinging there only meant the phone was there. I am curious to what time it pinged there. Does the time line fit her getting off the bus (I can't imagine it was so crowded that the driver, camera or no other passengers wouldn't reacall). Then walking all that way. I am not thinking she was a jumper and no one nor any camera picked anything up. As you said it is pretty well monitored. Sadly I am not leaning towards her doing a gone girl scenario either. From all indications she had a loving and supporting family who would have been accepting of her saying. I can't take this. I need a break. I am overwhelmed. I pray I am wrong and she will be found safe but I think she was set up and ran into trouble.

She texted her mother at 12:20 which could mean she was OK at the time. Her last ping was at 1:15, almost an hour later. What happened at that point? Can her phone's location be traced for the last hour before it went dead?

To Note:
•Security camera footage shows her leaving Buffalo State's campus at around 11:00pm.
•Her cell phone then pinged off of a cell tower near Niagara Falls State Park a couple hours later at 1:23 am.
•It is information officials did not discover until phone records came back on Tuesday.
•Officials believed she could have taken a bus to Niagara Falls, leading to the ping.
•It is something that was confirmed just before the press conference was abruptly ended.
•What exactly is on the bus video is unknown.

I noticed in the articles it says she could have gone to Yonkers. I'm not familiar with that side of the US, but google maps tells me that's a whopping 6 hour drive from Niagra Falls. In the middle of the night? Without an overnight bag?

Surely they'd have some reason to believe she'd travel that far, without her own mode of transportation? Any alternate options aren't as hopeful to think about.

Who was she texting last besides her mom? Is she dating anyone currently, or have an ex? Did that person have a car and a connection to Yonkers? iirc she's from the Bronx, which is just 10 miles from Yonkers. This area would be familiar to her if this is where she grew up.

I understand and respect her parents wishes to keep true crime youtubers from making video about their missing daughter, turning a profit from their anguish, especially in a time so polarized by Black suffering, trauma and death. I just know so many people want to find her, however the best way is to do that. I hope she comes home. MOO.
