There are a lot of cameras along the roads and in that park that leads to the bridge to Goat island. She must have been captured on camera getting to the island. Once on the island there are unfortunately many places where it is wooded and you can walk right up to the water without being seen.

Not to mention that parks police are very proactive at patrolling and monitoring people especially alone at night. This is due to it being a time that suicide is high. Even more so after the casino opened

A key piece of video that still hasn’t been released is footage the NFTA has of Dennis.

On Monday, 2 On Your Side asked the NFTA whether it has any plans of releasing video of Dennis at the NFTA’s bus terminal in downtown Buffalo, presumably after she was last seen on campus.

A spokesperson for the NFTA says the video has been sent to Buff State Police, because it’s the university’s investigation.

2 On Your Side's Jeff Preval has filed a public records request to see that video.

On the question of the NFTA video, Buff State points us to this part of the statement from Conway-Turner echoing what the police chief said over the weekend:

“[...] we recognize that there is great interest in the details of this case, but please understand that in order to protect the integrity of this multiagency investigation, we are unable to publicly disclose certain aspects of the case.”
 
Regarding that bus terminal video, and that it is not being released at this time due to "in order to protect the integrity of this multiagency investigation, we are unable to publicly disclose certain aspects of the case” makes me wonder if there's something on that video that's very important....another person with Saniyya they do not want to alert? her behavior? what?

Seems to me to be a bit unusual it's being kept under wraps for now, when we do normally see "last seen" videos of missing persons.

I really feel for her poor parents and family....the anguish is a nightmare.

I thought the same. It makes me think there's some detail on the video that they're afraid may cause people to draw some conclusion that may or may not be accurate. And which investigators possibly also are not yet sure how to interpret. So until they can get some understanding of it, they're going to sit on it.

Wait...what? Are the transit maps completely outdated? 20A doesn't stop at the Black Rock Depot. 32A does. Moovit app and Google Transit directions do not show a route from 20A to 40 to Goat Island.

This is one of the last known texts between her and a friend. Note time stamps. Phone stopped pinging on Goat Island at 1:23am Sunday. Nothing since.

Her first post made in Nov 2020 is of Niagara Falls at night. So she was been there at night before.

On that IG account, she only follows 22 people, which doesn't seem to coincide with the majority of college students, imo.

After looking at the accounts she follows, I believe this private account is also Saniyya. Can someone with better eyes confirm she is the one in this photo?

Saniyya's family says they’ve heard from a friend of Saniyya’s that she may’ve gotten on an NFTA bus going to the downtown terminal and then up to Niagara Falls. The family says police have told them her phone was pinged, identifying it to be near Goat Island.

It looks like Saniyya might have told a friend of her intention to travel to Niagara Falls.

According to various report, this was the actitvity on her phone that night:

She texted her mother at 12:20
She exchanged texts with a friend at 12:52
She messaged friends on Instagram at 12:57
She sent a photo on Snapchat at unknown time (the location pictured matches the last ping location)

Her phone went silent at 1:23, less than half an hour after the last publicly known communication.

IMO the authorities and family know if she was at the park alone, but won't release that info.
I wonder how many people would normally be there at night at this time of year.

Could she have taken #20 from college to downtown and then #40 to Niagara Falls (as her friend suggested)?
