Watching how they worked in the trial, it wouldn’t surprise me if they just presented CBR with this affidavit about not understanding his Miranda rights and he signed it pretty much clueless as to what it was. They were taking a chance and hoping the judge would accept no questions asked. When the judge required cross-examination by the prosecution, they had to pull it because CBR was clueless about it. They pulled this all through the trial. Mentioning phone records implying big info, mentioning reported statements pointing to lies etc. But they never produced anything to back any of it up. Despicable. It’s not “what can I do for my client” it’s “what can I get away with”. Despicable.

Yeah, that ninja story (((dance))) was obnoxious and insulting as defense Mrs said “now you’re not saying one of the men was Dalton Jack are you”

MOO

Tonight I was reading some SM posts about this trial. Amazed how many people believe the Ninja story. Really????
Wow, This makes me sad that people can be swayed by anything they hear, without ever thinking if it's even logical. I don't know what will happen to a trial by your peers if people stop listening and reasoning.

And for all the huffing and puffing by the defense that the State did not have DJ's phone records, it seems to me that the defense obtained DJ's phone records and could therefore answer their own question of where the evidence was that corroborated DJ was in Dubuquoke Dubuque - near the bridge job. I think they just wanted to emphasize that DJ was not investigated as thoroughly as they believed was required.
Eeek - not such a great idea to use EU voice text!

This doesn't surprise me at all.
I'm surprised as heck!

Real life has been crazy lately, but i
I have listened in bits and pieces. When I heard him testiying, I was like wait what?! Two guys killed Mollie? What a ludicrous, obvious, attempt to throw spaghetti at the wall to see it might stick

That female defense attorney was so irritating, she slaughtered every Spanish word that came out if her mouth.

My thoughts are with Mollie's family and friends as they wait for the verdict.

Did I just miss it or did Mr. Defense totally and intentionally neglect to support his client’s Sweater Ninja testimony in his closing argument today? The entire defense case by design appeared disjointed and confusing including blood and decomposing cows, something about a vacuum, a young woman abused by her father that lived in close proximity to the body location. There were so many ideas introduced without follow-up. But I found CBR’s outrageous testimony of two sweater/stocking hat/glove-wearing men armed with a gun and a camo knife that mysteriously appeared in his trailer, kidnapped and forced him to drive and locate Mollie, murdered Mollie, put her in the trunk, threatened CBR/family and seemingly vaporized after leaving CBR in the cornfield with Mollie, his car and phone to be unbelievably disrespectful to the sanctity of the trial, Mollie and her family. My heart hurt for all of Mollie’s friends and family.

All they need to do is plant the seed of doubt in one juror. One that will hold firm. Logic, and critical thinking skills are missing in many juries.

Well, they certainly didn't plant any seeds of doubt in anyone here. I think the immediate reaction for most people was total consternation when CBR began his testimony. The next reaction was disbelief and maybe even disdain for both the defense and their client.

Hopefully the jury felt the same. They at least understand that they need to look at the evidence, and there is no evidence that anyone other than the defendant is responsible for the crime.

Whew! You all left me in the dust but I'm finally caught up.

I was looking forward to seeing this thread title updated to "Guilty" but obviously that won't happen until (at least) tomorrow. I say let the jury take the time they need to get it right. If they just follow the evidence they'll get there, and this lying, murdering, maniac will be found guilty as charged. MOO
