Here is one of the videos I referenced earlier where the reporter says Tipster dropped off tote at 6 am Tuesday AM. Not sure what to make of the 3:30 am vs 6 Am discrepancy in reports. Given that news that Theresa was on the run didn’t break til hours later than both, not sure it matters.
Horrific new details in death of 5-year-old Houston boy

A video posted earlier that included the court documents stated TB & the unidentified man arrived at the hotel and began bringing things into the room around 3:30am (Tue).
The man then called in the tip that TB was at the hotel room. According to documents, TB was being escorted out of hotel room by 6 (Tue).

Father of 6-year-old Samuel Olson denies being involved in child’s death, lawyer says

Updated 30mins ago

As new details about the body of a child found at a Jasper motel believed to be that of 6-year-old Samuel Olson come to light, his father Dalton, through his attorney Samuel Veenstra, denies being involved.

”He had nothing to do with the death of his son,” said Veenstra. “(The) family is in mourning, shocked and in disbelief.”

He said the family is seeking answers as to what happened and why.

Court documents reveal that the child was dead two weeks before his father reported him missing to law enforcement. The child’s body was at an apartment that Balboa shared with a roommate in Webster for days before she allegedly took the body to a storage facility and later to a motel in Jasper, per court documents.

There is so much about this case that is infuriating. That this child somehow ended up in the hands of a known violent offender while the adults around him (allegedly) denied access to his legal custodian, makes me crazy. In generosity, I might assume they believed there was some valid reason to do so.

I have no doubt that everyone is devastated and grieving. I’m sincerely sorry for that. But I cannot get past the fact that Samuel was failed by the system that was supposed to protect him. Repeatedly.

I’m so very tired of reading different versions of this same story.

IMO.

I'm not understanding the dad if he didn't see his son for weeks at a time why couldn't Samuel just stay with his mum and dad have visitation when he could, but instead he leaves him with a woman who he knows is violent and doesn't have custody of her own children makes no sense. MOO
RIP sweet boy.

"They later interviewed _______, the man who allegedly booked the motel room where Balboa was found. ________, 27, told police Balboa called him on Monday and said "she needed help because she was involved in an altercation," the complaint states [...]"

"They then went to the Best Western, where he checked her in, the complaint states.

Around 6 a.m. Tuesday, _________ "removed the storage container from the bed of his pickup," the complaint states.

Surveillance footage shows him "drag the tote into room 106," the document further alleges. He then gets in his truck and drives away."

-----------------

They met on Monday, but the container was in his truck until 6 a.m. the next morning? This doesn't make sense, unless...

I read somewhere that Mom SO had just successfully made it through the court system and Samuel was supposed to be returned to her on June 1. I was looking for that link and came across this People Magazine article. It states DO kept Samuel after a Jan 2020 visitation without permission. SO last saw Samuel in May 2020 around his 5 th bday. from the link^^^:

Sarah's efforts over the past several months to reclaim her son and deliver legal paperwork to the boy's father that would enforce her primary custody were stymied by court delays caused by the pandemic, as well as Dalton Olson's apparent jumping among residences, said Gomez, the spokesman for Sarah's attorney.

Police also confirmed that Samuel had been enrolled in at least two different schools during that time.

"All I want is justice for Samuel, my baby," Sarah said, according to her attorney. "I do not want people to forget Samuel's name."

My mind is in a couple of places:
-I think May 13 is important because the receipt could quickly verify this date
May 13: The roommate told police he went to Walmart and bought a plastic bin and duct tape. The receipt was found during the investigation.
Timeline: What happened to Samuel Olson? | khou.com

If the roommate is being truthful about the 10th, the alleged May 21 phone call is likely being fine combed by LE.

If the roommate is being untruthful about the 10th and DO did talk to his son on the 21st of May, does this become premeditated if the supplies were purchased on May 13?

I think there is still a lot of finger pointing possibly going on. JMO

The video of him in Wal-Mart should be easy to retrieve. Wal-Mart has a corp dedicated dept working with LE to retrieve video surveillance.

I lost a credit card, didn't realize until the next day. Thieves racked up hundreds of dollars at Wallyworld. LE had the video within hours. The entire shopping trip, including tracking their car, on video. I was amazed.

DO lived in Cypress with SO and his father or grandfather. School officials have confirmed that he walked his son to school daily. It's in the video posted earlier.

They say that TO lives in Santa Fe. Santa Fe is easily an hour and a half drive from Cypress. But if the kid was already sick, I don't understand why they didn't just allow him to remain where he'd already exposed people or where he'd gotten sick.

But maybe TO works and couldn't provide daily childcare.

I don't understand why SO wasn't taken to a doctor or for a Covid test, prior or after sending him to live with TB. ERs are open 24/7, most pharmacies have no appointment testing and it's FREE.

Anxiously awaiting autopsy COD.

Samuel Olson's dad denies involvement in son's apparent death as girlfriend faces charges

“The father had been engaged in a custody battle with his wife, Sarah Olson, who was divorcing him, and he believed he had primary custody over their child, Veenstra said.

Dalton and Sarah, the estranged couple, spent almost two years attempting to negotiate Samuel’s care. The father was proactive in fighting for custody, Veenstra said, and by the end, he misunderstood that the mother should have had more access to her son than she did.

They had separated and entered a custody order in April 2019, splitting time with Samuel, Veenstra said. Concern over Sam’s wellbeing caused Dalton to file another order in January 2020 and hire an attorney, he said. Sarah filed for divorce days later.

Dalton was under the impression that the orders had been modified to make him the custodial parent, and Sarah had little to no access to her son starting January 2020, Veenstra said. That order had actually never been put in place.”

That sounds convoluted.

DO and SO were not divorced yet DO already has a fiancée? Huh?

How long have DO and TB been together?

Wondering what they did for 2 1/2 hours while SOs body was in a tote on his truck bed?

Surely "her ride" smelled the tote odor when the storage building was opened or when loading into his truck. Thankful he did call LE before SO was lost forever.

<modsnip> I am still trying to grasp, 1. Why was he with the dad, when mom had custody and did not pursue kidnapping charges when the child wasn’t returned. 2. Why was the child left by the father with a person who was unfit to be around children. So many children lately have been put in this situation. Seems to be an adult game with a child as a pawn. Samuel’s mother’s attorneys did two press conferences addressing these things linked in prior thread. They stated that she was trying to take back possession of Samuel in her vehicle after months of being kept from him when the charges were brought against her. So yeah complicated, but unclear to me.
So, why not get a copy of your court orders, go to the police station, get a police escort to lawfully gain back your child.

All my opinion...trying to piece the puzzle together. I've not found a source for the actual arrest affidavit.

I'm starting to think LE knew on May 31st SO was deceased, maybe TM knew as well. The vehicle was impounded on 5/31, searched the apartment and interviewed the room mate. I think TB got wind of this, knew she had to move the body quickly. She may have contacted an out of town friend, as most were under LE surveillance, to move SO.

Police Believe Body of Child Found in Texas Motel Is 6-Year-Old Samuel Olson. His Father’s Girlfriend Now Faces Evidence Tampering Charge.

Snipped...

Police on Monday executed a search warrant on Balboa’s residence and towed her car, a Dodge Avenger, to be searched for forensic evidence.

The Jasper Police Department on Tuesday contacted investigators to inform them of an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip that led them to a motel hours away from Houston, reportedly a Best Western.

“Jasper Police Department officers initiated contact at the motel with Ms. Balboa and eventually discovered the body of a young child and Ms. Balboa was taken into custody,” Morris said. “At this time, we believe the child to be Samuel, but we cannot confirm it is him until the medical examiner makes that determination.”

Affidavit reveals 5-year-old Samuel Olson’s decomposed body was carried around for weeks

In fact, court documents allege Balboa was aided by her live-in roommate, whom we will not identify because it’s unclear if they are facing any charges
. The report states the roommate told authorities Balboa called him on May 10 and informed him about Samuel’s death.

The roommate then rushed home, where he said he saw Samuel’s body on a bed and observed some bruises as well. Shortly afterward, the roommate and Balboa, according to the affidavit placed Samuel’s "corpse in a bathtub, where he remained for two days."

A couple of days later, the roommate told officials he bought some duct tape and a plastic tote bag at an area Wal-Mart, where they later placed Samuel’s body. Police paperwork claims the two took Samuel’s body (now in the tote bag) at a storage unit near their home.

Police in Jasper said they received a call on June 1 though, about a woman - later determined to be Balboa – at a Best Western Motel in Jasper County. Responding officers claim they knocked on the room’s door several times before getting a spare key to the room, which was listed under an entirely different person’s name.

I'm with you as to her quick exit that day... that she thought the roomie would turn her in so she involved another person.

Again, kudos to Tim, LE, and family as this seemed to move the case forwards. I'm sure that Tim had MUCH input MOO in discussions with LE as to how to handle. Tell her she is lying, they know she is lying.. right at the time that her roomie is with LE so she thinks the gig is up and roomie has spilled the beans... then see what she does.

Again, I have a hard time thinking that LE weren't following her physically or by electronics. Did she ditch phone to avoid tracking?

Great work!

ETA: I wonder if she was on the phone to "someone" during DO's interview... she was sitting in the car, and then got out of the car during the interview and walked across the street. And then later, that "strange" interview she had at the car door. MOO

I'm still wondering how she left? In whose car? How did she get to that Walmart where she met the pick-up driver?

Totally agree !!! Maybe she turned her phone over to LE. She could have "borrowed" a phone to make the arrangements to move him.

Hoping more information is released today.
