Yes, I didn't realize until the LE psychologist said the state should change the requirements regarding who may call themselves a psychologist, that anyone with an undergraduate degree can earn the title of "psychologist." It is apparently a legal and recognized title for all areas of practice.

It certainly caused a lot of confusion in the beginning. I can see why those with a Doctorate in Psychology would have been alarmed. In the US, you need a Masters, plus experience in a clinical setting, before you can even practice as a therapist.

I think they do need to change the laws and I think they will eventually, especially after such a high profile case as this. Imo
