Search for missing Hephzibah man in Barnwell County continues

Alfonzo Green, 48, left his Richmond County home Sunday, June 27th, around 5 p.m. and never returned.

Family and LE have reason to believe that he travelled to Barnwell County, SC – neither he nor his vehicle, a 2014 cream-colored Escalade, have been seen since.

The family tells WJBF that they contacted the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office shortly after he failed to come back to his home in Hephzibah and they began to question his safety.

Green lives in Hephzibah with his girlfriend, who initially filed a missing person’s report with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Family pleads with the public for answers in man’s disappearance | WJBF

The family of a missing Hephzibah man, Alfonzo Green, is searching for answers after they tracked his phone to Barnwell South Carolina.

Family members say the details surrounding his disappearance don’t make sense. Now they’re pleading with the public to come forward with any information.

Green’s girlfriend, Cusheena Jordan, stated he left about 5pm.

“He’s normally home and in the bed by 8 o’clock each night and after a certain time Sunday evening after I didn’t hear from him and he wasn’t home, I felt like something was wrong so I reached out to his mom to see if she heard something,” said Cusheena Jordan.

But no one had seen or heard from Green. He missed work the next day, a no call, no show. Jordan says she contacted AT&T to see if they could track his phone.

The search became a family effort in Barnwell.

While in Barnwell family members say there’s been talk that Green went there to meet a woman he had met online. They got her name, but police told the family there’s no woman by that name in the area.

Now they’re back to square one, trying to figure out why he was in Barnwell in the first place.
