His first water run ended off the coast of St. Augustine in 2014, where he was rescued after a failed attempt to run to Bermuda. The Coast Guard ultimately fined him $144,000 for the rescue, citing its earlier advice that he not make the journey.

Baluchi set out again for Bermuda in 2016 and got as far as Jupiter, Fla., before he again had to be rescued. The Coast Guard warned him at the time that he could face a $40,000 fine or up to seven years in prison for violating their order not to depart.

Inventors are often not understood but humankind has reaped great benefits when inventors refuse to give up on their ideas. Thomas Edison once wrote to his very patient wife that he was sorry for not being home for months but he was sitting observing a bumblebee for hours to try to understand how their very heavy bodies were able to fly. Today, we know from advanced science that their little wings have loads of mitachondria. Fascinating inventors.

Seems like he imorivised on a shark cage with a flotation device. It should be produced now but with a motor boat type power. It could help people in flood zones to get out. Protection from gators and sharks. Nice, I like it.
