Orefice said the body could have been there between six weeks and two months.

The family member that spoke with News 9 said the original owner recently passed away. He said he was clearing out the backyard when he found the body and called 911.

The relative said he feared his schizophrenic son killed another family member who has been missing. He also said his son was already in custody.

Bethany PD Made Frequent Visits To Home Where Decomposed Body Was Found In Backyard

So dad lived there with mentally ill son. Had to call police a lot and eventually moved out. Homeowner passed away recently. Another family member is missing.

Was the homeowner the mom or a grandparent? How did that person die? How old it the mentally ill son?

The dad called police a lot. And had to move out due to the son's behavior. Why not commit him? Why just expect others, like police, to take care of the situation? And if the son was left with an elderly grandparent...that's just awful.

Quite often it's difficult to impossible to get any help for those with mental problems.

Please could you share the salient points in the 2 articles posted above, as they’re not available to us here in Europe.

I would be most grateful. Many thanks, Bethan.
the original owner of the home who passed is the matriarch i believe. one of the sons, the one who discovered the body, said that he moved out because of HIS mentally ill son. Police have been called to the home 17-21 times in 2021. he is currently in custody but not on this. the family suspected the body was that of one of the brothers (presumably uncle of the mentally ill guy) he disappeared 6 weeks ago and missed the funeral. it did end up being him, Clifton Taylor.

BETHANY — The skeletal remains of Clif Taylor, a loving brother and friendly neighbor who enjoyed alternative music and the arts, were found nearly a year ago in a shallow grave behind his dead mother’s house.

While investigators continue looking at evidence that might point to who killed him, the death of Taylor at age 43 remains an unsolved homicide, and his grieving family still seeks answers.

“It’s a nightmare,” Ryan Taylor, the older brother of Clif Taylor, told The Oklahoman by phone from Texas this week. “Last thing I heard, they were waiting for DNA results, which I hope helps them with the case."

In its autopsy report, the state medical examiner’s office listed Taylor’s death as a homicide caused by multiple blunt force and sharp force injuries.

Taylor’s death was violent and likely at the hands of someone in a rage.

Oklahoma County District Court documents identified Joseph Taylor, 20, as the suspect after human remains were found on June 7, 2021, in the backyard of a Bethany home.

Police identified the remains as 43-year-old Clifton Taylor.

Court documents revealed that Joseph was the nephew of Clifton after an interview was conducted with Clifton’s brother, Patrick Taylor.

In the documents, Patrick told investigators that he believed Joseph was the suspect because he would threaten to stab the family members.

Patrick also stated that Clifton and Joseph would fight a lot, leading to him calling the police numerous times, the documents said.

So true.. Mental illness is so misunderstood and sometimes neglected in this country. People can have problems that the outside world does not acknowledge and then..... tragedy occurs, often.

A man accused in a two-year-old homicide case in which human remains were discovered has been charged with first-degree murder. Joseph Taylor, 20, remains in the Oklahoma County jail without bail on suspicion of murdering his uncle, Clif Taylor, 43, and burying his body in a shallow grave behind a house in Bethany.
