Remember he said it was common for Suzanne to get the beds ready when guests were coming over and the girls were coming home Sunday so I think he believed the police would see the sheets and think she was prepping for company and nothing uusual, but he wasn't counting on the evidence he accidently left in there to be there.
And maybe he saw her to do list and thought to make it look like Suzanne was washing the sheets since the girls were due home on Mother’s Day and he wanted to make it look like she was abducted on a bike ride that day. Or maybe Suzanne did wash the sheets herself and put them in the dryer on Saturday. Then Barry ran a load to get rid of evidence, took the sheets out of the dryer to dry his clothes and then put the sheets back in the dryer when he was finished. He might not have had time to make the bed and wouldn’t want his DNA on the sheets. He probably doesn’t know how to make a bed properly anyway!

BM was escorted in just long enough to point out some clothes of SM for the tracking dogs to use.

When was the house returned to him? The khaki shorts in the dryer were brought up as if he laundered what he wore May 9. Which is possible if he got the house back. And likely he has more than one pair of khaki shorts. But there must be significance to this finding.

Deer, chipmunks, elk, his wife. Makes no difference to him.

She was just another kill in his bag.

I saw one of the comments on twitter was that "deer" and "dear" were both in his aim... MOO

In fact SM may have washed MalM's sheets as planned -- maybe they were in the dryer or even already out and waiting to be put back on the bed, and BM took the opportunity to use them and then rewash afterwards... MOO

Except Suzanne texted a reminder to stop at the Spa Store so I don't see it as an alibi.
Several posters commented earlier that they buy their hot tub chemicals at regular stores, Costco/WalMart or maybe even grocery stores/drugstores. He may have bought some just not at that store or on that visit.

MOO

No. Barry was there briefly with investigators, and followed all instructions.

So was Barry left alone at the home at any time after the police were brought in? I was under the impression that he was allowed to get some things out of the house; clothes, toothbrush etc with the police with him, but not allowed to stay in the house. We need to know when the house was sealed. This will give us an indication of whether BM was able to get the helmet and plant it AFTER SM was thought to be missing.

I agree they are going on order and whatever happened in the spring of 2021 was what finally lead to his arrest. I think those interviews and things he did after like selling the property and money stuff is what they finally caught him in lies or something like that.
Yes agree…lots & lots of lies and changing his story!

I have hunters in my family, but they've never made me feel uncomfortable with the way they hunt (deer & fowl mainly). I love to watch the GSP dogs train. Here I am taking a monarch butterfly home who had a wing stuck on the pavement at the grocery store parking lot.

BM + wildlife = a cruel blood sport. He's something else. I have friends who live in Alaska even and would never do this crap. IMO

No. And it’s clear that they believe he dumped it on the way to Broomfield. He made a left instead of a right, which put him near the helmet and in the opposite direction of where he was supposed to be going (he claimed he was following elk).

Intriguing. So he’s caught on surveillance video wearing certain clothes, and he gets home and washes them right away. Explains the syringe cap being there.

DA Mark Hurlbert now doing redirect.

Hurlbert confirms with Graham that men's khaki shorts and other clothing were found in the dryer. It matches what Barry was seen wearing May 9 on surveillance video.

We're now on a break.

Well that is huge if what he was wearing the 9th was in the dryer, then when did this laundry get done? I'm curious of what he told detectives him and Suzanne did the 9th after he got home when she was never heard from again. Surly he remember on the 10th when they asked him what they did on the night before. Why would his clothing be washed with the sheets. I guess it's possible they were thrown in together, but I call bull.

And being a volunteer fire fighter would mean he understood even more the value of wearing gloves. I also think him being a hunter for so long, he knows how to clean up things, he knows how to do things without making a bloody mess, and I'm sure he's learned many tricks along the way on how to do things "better".. makes me sick to think about, but his entire life he hunted things, killed, gutted, and disposed of them.
Quite a legacy....

I am a little concerned because trials aren't like a movie. You don't withhold your best evidence for shock value at the end. If you have something really strong, you open with it to get the Judge over the line before anyone has a chance to dispute it.

I really don't think the state has anything more than he must have done it because he was with her and he engaged in bizarre cover-up behavior (trash runs). That could be enough but it's not a very strong case and may explain why it took a year to press the charges.
Agreed. IMO, the state was hoping BM would lead them to SM, but when he was getting ready to move on, I am guessing that they thought it was now or never. IMO, he is very guilty, just very difficult to prove.

So Suzanne didn't take her camelbak with her? Very peculiar, we've seen the picture of her wearing it. Who doesn't take water on a bike ride?

And if she took off on her own why wouldn't she take her purse and wallet/ID?

I'm not so sure about the shorts...if he's anything like my husband...my husband has several pair of khaki shorts all the same brand...same size.....I wonder how they know they are the ones he was actually wearing unless they asked Barry, but it seems like that info would have been included? This is quite perplexing...hope they get to some evidence soon. So far it reads like "day in the life of the Morphews". Yikes.
