I agree. But I also wonder if there's any chance that data could be corrupt. IIRC, the recon expert stated that they generally only expect to see 1 or 2 restart attempts logged after an accident and that is because the act of hooking up to the box to download the info will register as a restart event. Admittedly, I am not familiar with the mechanism or how the hookup ports work but that sounds to me like any time power is applied to the box, it logs an engine start event. And that seems less than reliable to me in a vehicle that's just been in an accident where the vehicle had had a strong enough front end impact to cartwheel it one time and come to rest on the driver's side. I could picture a scenario where that type of impact could result in a short that continued to log engine start events as the box detected power surges. I'd be curious to hear what LE, other reconstruction specialists, or even the manufacturer had to say about that data. Similarly, I'd like to hear if there could be some other explanations for how those 11 miles appeared to have been logged after the air bags deployed.
