At his murder trial at the Old Bailey, DCI Harding described how Hussein acted like a "belligerent child". He said he was an "arrogant young man" who had a "deluded" ideology.


The trial was regularly disrupted due to his demand for toilet breaks, while he would often stand or sit with his back to Mrs Justice Whipple.


DCI Harding also recalled how Hussein was trying to catch the eye of the devastated family and made a "loser" sign towards a paramedic giving evidence.


"He has showed complete disrespect to the court system, the family and the judge."

DCI Harding added that Hussein's parents had "not engaged with police at all"

He's too young unfortunately, think you have to be 21 at the time of the crime to get a whole life order.

Thanks for the update. I suspect that Danyal has been putting on a performance in jail to deliberately delay sentencing or to try and get himself a full time place at Broadmoor.

Let's hope they find good reason to lock him up indefinitely.
There is reason to think that he will have no qualms to start over once he is out. He will remain a huge danger to women IMO. That said, in this strange world we live today, if he'd suddenly identify as female, they'd have to transfer him to a women's prison if they stick to the idea that gender overrules brutality.

The sentencing of Danyal Hussein for the murders of sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman has been put off to October. The press and public were not allowed into a court hearing in his case today - so no confirmed update on what is going on.

Perhaps because of his behaviour? Being disruptive and belligerent sounds like something he would do but judge could have ordered him to be removed if so, so I don't really understand it even if that were the case.

I feel so sorry for Bibaa and Nicole's mother and both fathers - more delay. Also a pity the Judge could not have been advised of this earlier, surely they knew by yesterday that they didn't have all the reports finalised.

Wondering how long does it take ? they've had over 2 months - or is it just due to backlog of work ?

Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman: Met Police to apologise to family of murdered sisters

Speaking about the apology, the sister's mother Mina Smallman said: "We're not the only parties who suffered mental anguish at the hands of Met's incompetent, reprehensible and blatant disregard of agreed procedures regarding missing persons."

She added that the on-duty call handler had made "inappropriate and manipulating assertions, which led to cancellation of the missing persons report.

"We're also of the view that his unprofessional comments about the picnic suggests racial profiling, misogyny or classism."

Dame Cressida has said she contacted the family to ask if they would allow her or another senior officer to visit to apologise in person.

However, Ms Smallman said: "Sorry is something you say when you comprehend the wrong you do and take full responsibility for it, demonstrating that by taking appropriate proportionate action - which to our minds is not going to happen.

"The investigation was not handled appropriately. The apology should have been done face-to-face and not nearly 10 months later."
