''Police spokesperson Jackie Penman said: 'If you see Mr. Ali, call 911 immediately'''
''Officers are looking for 63-year-old Faqir Ali, who they say was taken from a home in a dark SUV Thursday morning near Glancaster Road and Dickenson Road in Mount Hope. Both the sons are in their mid-20s, Hamilton police say.
"We do believe that his life is in danger," said media relations officer Const. Indy Bharaj. "The main focus of this investigation, at this time, is bringing Faqir home safely."
Ali is described as five feet seven inches tall and 180 pounds. He has a medium complexion and thinning black hair.
He was wearing black and white plaid pyjamas bottoms and no shirt when he was taken from his home.''

''Faqir Ali’s website boasts of his international “connections,” myriad achievements and a plethora of praise.''

''In 2018, Ali was ordered in Hamilton Small Claims Court to pay $11,908 in damages and legal costs to a Brampton man for “failing to repay a loan,” according to a law firm then seeking his whereabouts.

The firm said: “Despite signing a loan agreement, dated Nov. 25, 2015, promising to repay the funds within six months, the debtor failed to do so.”

''His last known address, the firm said, was the large home where the murder and kidnapping took place.

“He identifies himself as a ‘Lawyer, Businessman, Spiritual Leader and Public Figure,'” the law firm said. “However, as of the date of publication of this post, Mr. Ali does not appear in the Law Society of Ontario’s directory of lawyers.

On his website, Ali boasts of a wide-ranging education that includes stops at Columbia University and the University of Leeds.

Part of his CV reads: “He was apart (sic) of Paul Martin’s and Stephen Harper’s campaign for Prime Minister of Canada. He was also apart (sic) of Patrick Brown’s campaign for the Mayor of Brampton.”

Cannot imagine the horror, stress and sadness the poor wife and mother must be experiencing, hoping her husband and son recover soon.

''Ali's brother-in-law, Suliaman Khalid, who spoke with CBC News from Pakistan, said he was due to get married on Oct. 10, but the wedding has now been postponed so the family can focus on supporting his sister, Ali's wife, who is in shock and has been admitted to hospital, he said.

"She had already booked the flight, I think the 25th of September — she [and] her sons were coming back to Pakistan," Khalid told CBC Hamilton.

"She's in shock," he said. "Her husband is found very critically injured, life-threatening injuries. I'm a doctor, a resident physician in Pakistan, so I know. When your husband is critically injured and already he was kidnapped, one son is dead already and one son is in [the] operating room, so of course she is in shock.

"Her mental state is not very good already, so we feel that she's very lonely over there. She needs us right now, but in reality we are far from her, very far."

Khalid said his brother and another sister are making arrangements to travel to Canada as soon as possible to be with his sister.

Pakistani community 'very upset'
Zahid Butt, founding director and senior vice-president of the Pakistani Business Association of Hamilton, said he has known Ali since 2005.

"Our family, we know each other and he calls me sometimes because … we would sometimes just connect with each other regarding community matters," Butt told CBC News.

He said he has been receiving telephone calls all day from members of the Pakistani community, and that they are "very upset."

Men shot during deadly Hamilton home invasion were trying to help their father: police
''One of the victims, who has now been identified by investigators as 21-year-old Hasnain ‘Nano’ Ali, was subsequently pronounced dead.

Their father, 63-year-old Faqir Ali, who police say was abducted and beaten by the assailants, was found hours later on Beach Boulevard, where he had been dumped by his captors.

Police say he was located thanks to tips from the public, who notified police of Ali’s whereabouts.

“People were able to witness Mr. Ali in the area of Beach Boulevard and we rushed right to it,” Det.-Sgt. Steve Bereziuk told reporters at a news conference on Friday morning.

Ali was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and police now say he and his surviving son, who is not being named by investigators, are in stable condition.

Bereziuk said police are “quite confident” Faqir Ali was the target of the attack but investigators are still not clear on the motive.

“I can tell you that it appears to us at this point in time that his sons were trying to help him and unfortunately they were shot,” Bereziuk said Friday.

“We need to figure out what the motive is if we can but at this point I don't have that…This family is not known to Hamilton police.”

Ali’s wife and daughter, who were inside the residence at the time of the home invasion, were not injured.''

''Police say one of the suspects is described as a black male, who is about six-feet tall, has a thin build and dark skin and was seen wearing a dark top and dark pants.

Another suspect is described by investigators as a black male who was seen wearing a grey track suit and a wrap on his head.

The suspects were last seen heading down Eastport Drive toward Nikola Tesla Boulevard in a black SUV, which police say was later recovered in Hamilton.''

“We need to figure out what the motive is if we can but at this point I don't have that…This family is not known to Hamilton police,” Det.-Sgt. Steve Bereziuk told reporters last month.

Today’s press conference is scheduled for Hamilton police headquarters at 1 p.m.

''Bereziuk said police are still investigating the motive behind the attack but said money was involved.

"The accused was looking for money from Mr. Ali. I won't say specifically how much money but a sum was obviously demanded for and no money has ever been obtained," he said.

"They didn't achieve their end goal, so that's very much a focus of our investigation."

Bereziuk said investigators were aware of an online post by a law firm in Mississauga about $12,000 owed by Ali in 2018 but there's no apparent link to the post and the attack.''

''Bereziuk said the accused was arrested on the 16th in the Mountain area around 11p.m., after using witnesses' information to find the vehicle. He said they found a handgun in the vehicle.

Now the man has been charged with the first-degree murder in the death of Hasnain Ali, 21, also known as Nano.

The Hamilton man is also facing attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault and numerous firearms charges.

Antoine Chambers is in custody, police say, and will be in court on Oct. 13.

Bereziuk said he encourages the remaining suspects to contact a lawyer and turn themselves in.''

Two other men have also been arrested in the violent incident.''
