maybe to get evidence as far away as possible, or to pass on to someone else or sell?:(

there is Lismore airport not far away from Casino, however am personally thinking that ‘300 ks north’ for RP could be anywhere north that seemed a looong way to drive, particularly for an unwell man.

Did KO give any closed court evidence, as I struggle with the idea that she wouldn’t have had more information from poor old Ray, who imo seemed to be clearing his conscience in prep for his death.
I think this conversation was in April 2019 & he did pass in 2019.

Maybe I’m just a sticky beak, but I would’ve asked him a few more questions, given the huge significance of what he had chosen this person as the one to offload on.

Today is 8 October 2021, so it's now one year since the end of the inquest hearings:

"It is out of respect for William's life that we have gone through this difficult and painful process and we continue to go through the process," Magistrate Grahame said as she closed the inquest.

"I take the task before me very seriously. Please know that many people, myself included, remain committed to finding the truth."

- William Tyrrell: Sister of missing boy wants to become a detective to find him, News.com.au, 8 Oct 2020

The findings were due to be handed down 18 June 2021. As far as I've seen there's been no news about a new date - which is something I find hard to believe. Wouldn't someone at the Coroners Court have some clue about this? Weeks away? Months? Years? Couldn't they just chuck a dart at a calendar for a random date to be adjusted later and give us something to hope for?

Maybe the case is or is going to be given to the DPP??? Maybe it's going to be re-opened ...........who knows really

Anyone can phone the coroners court & enquire about the findings also..............

I've also noticed that there have been NO findings for any case published in the last 5 months that I can see .......

Whatever happens (e.g. findings, or resumption, or suspension and DPP), a court room somewhere will need to be booked ahead of time. If that has already been done, we could be told how far away that date will be. If everything is still up in the air and nothing has been booked in, the court could say "There's still no date for this case, which means that nothing will be happening for at least 6 months" (or 18 months, or 5 years. . . etc.) thus saving their poor court staff from having to field calls from random stickybeak citizens like myself.

There have been a number of findings published recently, drsleuth - maybe you were looking at the "Last updated" date down the bottom of the page (I don't know what it's talking about, but it doesn't seem to be attached to the list of decisions). The most recent decision by Magistrate Harriet Grahame was "Inquest into the death of M F" on 23 September 2021.

I understand your frustration Stormy as I’m pretty sure others do too. . and then I think of William’s family members & my heart breaks for them. It’s them who truely Need & Deserve answers but still they must wait & carry on; carry on as best they can because there are others who depend on them. I have the greatest respect for their perseverance, as fractured as that may become at times..

Re the delayed response to the Inquest, I choose to see it as a good thing (amongst the frustration!).
Thinking Magistrate Harriet is not prepared to Call it yet since there’s still so much for Investigators to go through, and she wants to be certain.

Does anyone know anything else about Ray Porter ? I think his family were at Inquest - Doc ?

Do we know who appeared ‘behind closed doors’ ?

Wow 12 months!!!! Didn’t realise... do find it odd as well that they have not made an announcement either way. The old covid card! Hopeful that it’s just she is doing some amazing work on that finding either way.

RP's brother & SIL gave evidence in open court via AVL, IP & TP ( neither appeared to me to be impressed that they had to give evidence IMO )

drsleuth, just checking: this probably doesn't make much difference either way but are you sure IP and TP appeared via audio visual link? Tweets by @LiaJHarris say that each of them "is now in the witness box" (tweets from 18 March 2020, one about Ray's brother and one about Ray's sister-in-law).

Yes I am sure ( there was initially a problem linking them in )
Thanks, drsleuth. The witnesses on AVL - would they have been in another court (so, actually in a witness box somewhere, just not in Taree) or are the tweets actually... not-very-accurate? (I don't know how to do a "worried" face but please imagine one here)

Thank you again.

I think they were probably sitting in a police station in a room that had AVL , this was common for all AVL witnesses. They were each on AVL seperatly.

I don't see any problem with this?

I don't see any problem with it either, but LH's tweets said they were "in the witness box" and it turns out they weren't. Maybe LH meant it as just a figure of expression and not literally, but I didn't have any way to know that. Now for me there's a level of doubt about all her other tweets as well. Apart from the inquest reports by you and a few other Websleuthers, most of what I know about the inquest comes from those tweets. Until now I'd thought they would be more accurate than other info in MSM. It's just disappointing.

Thank you for your own inquest reports, drsleuth. They are much-appreciated and you've been very kind to respond to questions once again.

No worries stormbird :)

They both took an oath or affirmation, so just like being in the witness box IMO

I've found Lia's tweets to be quite accurate if that helps.........

I too have been lurking for ages. Something about Ray Porter. The police say his vehicle was captured on a cctv camera affixed to the overbridge that crosses Pacific Highway. As far as I know his vehicle must have been traveling north along Pacific Highway. To access Pacific Highway to go north from Kendall or Lakewood you dont drive under the overbridge. From Kendall you acess Pacific Highway about 100 meters north of the overbridge by using an on ramp. From Lakewood you drive over the overbridge then turn right into the same on ramp that joins Pacific Highway like you were driving from Kendall.

If I am correct and IF Porter was involved he must have picked William up somewhere south of Kendall where you access Pacific Highway to drive north and then his vehicle was captured on the overbridge cctv. IMO

Hi pkwis .... this is what has been reported about RP's car movements (with accompanying CCTV pics).
William disappeared on Sept 12th.

A recent document says in the two days after William vanished, Porter's car was recorded passing the Kew southbound camera on the morning of September 13, 2014, and the north- and south-bound cameras at Port Macquarie, the next day.

Significantly, investigators have also obtained evidence placing Porter at Port Macquarie Hospital the day William was last seen in the foster nanna's yard.

An undated police note signed by Detective Senior Constable Ari Barr said: 'Hospital records show that on the 12th September 2014, Porter was at dialysis at Port Macquarie Hospital between 9am and 3pm.

Porter's car wasn't picked up by highway cameras between his Wauchope home and the hospital that critical day.

But detectives suggested Porter had likely just used an alternative route, the Oxley Highway, to attend his clinic.

William Tyrrell abduction: Probe after dying man's confession | Daily Mail Online

One theory that I don’t think gets much consideration is that William could have been initially lost from wandering or chasing an animal, but then abducted at a later time, some distance from the house yard. The only evidence I can think of that goes against this is that William’s scent was lost by the dogs at the end of the driveway, but there was a lot of suspicion that this may not be accurate because of the contamination of the crime scene (from memory).
