Also Dick Harpoo has said more than once that AM was so distraught on the morning of the 'shooting', out of his mind, coming off of drugs, etc.

From the fox article posted above, Griffin (who met with Alex that morning) says this:

"In that conversation with him – and I have had clients at the end of their rope before, I’ve been doing this over 30 years – I talked with him, and I was concerned, ‘was this something that would cause him to try to kill himself?’ And I had that conversation with him, and I felt reasonably confident after I left him that he was not in that frame of mind," Griffin said. "And I don’t think he was in that frame of mind at that point in time. But then he went and he met with a close friend. And then he had another friend that he was going to meet with who refused to meet with him. And I’m not going to name, names. After that, he did not feel like he could go forward and continue down that path. And he felt like ending his life."

Sketchy there too. It was not apparent to Griffin what bad shape Alex was in a mere four hours before.. Even though Alex .was telling him about his terrible addiction, plans to go to rehab. So it was only after meeting with a friend and another pal refusing to met him that he 'became suicidal'?

And lastly from the article, Griffin on CES:

"Griffin slightly deviated from Smith’s account. Murdaugh’s defense lawyer said Smith might not have known about the insurance scheme beforehand – but did oblige when Alex asked him to shoot him.

"My understanding is this guy was unaware of why Alex had called him out there. And then Alex made the request, and then he obliged," Griffin said.

Why does this make sense in any of their minds or in any of their realities? This is ridiculous.

So Griffin was not 100% confident AM wouldn't kill himself, only "reasonably confident" - that's kind of a huge gap when it comes to potential suicide. Yet Griffin did nothing to help insure that allegedly despondent, suicidal? AM did not do himself in. I'm thinking their 9/4 meeting was less an AM "confession" of his I-want-to-die! desperation than a full-on, conspiratorial, hail-Mary strategy session for them to cook up the latest deflection / nail CES as evil drug dealer/shooter scapegoat / literal escape-to-rehab scheme. Griffin and Harpootlian should be arrested and indicted for [insert a bunch of X's here].

Griffin contends that CES had no idea what AM wanted when he arrived at AM's Mercedes on empty Salkehatchie Rd. (which is true, set-up CES had no idea) ... but CES instantly agreed to shoot him dead so BM could get $10M? (btw, why didn't CES shoot AM dead?!) And CES would have gained nothing but status as a murderer? Sure, no problem, cuz, any favor for you! OMG what a crock of 24K BS.

I saw on FOX NEWS where he was released from rehab somewhere around Orlando Florida and arrested and taken to jail. Awaiting an extradition hearing. I believe the arrest was for the insurance fraud. Well we’ll the dominos are beginning to fall. Let’s see whose next.MOO
I believe it was for stealing the money that belonged to the Satterfield boys. Isn't that going to be straight-up Larceny?

So he's going to have an actual extradition hearing, even though the judge told him/Harpo he had to waive it to get the PR bond.

I am alright with him spending the weekend in jail, however. I'm sure it'll be a much different experience than the cushy rehab he's just left.

I think he likes his booze also. I haven't seen that documented anywhere -- but just his appearance in photos gives me that impression.

Doesn't look as florid or puffy after being arrested and in rehab -- a few days or weeks off the alcohol makes for quite a difference in his appearance. (IMO)
The ER nurse treating the boat accident kids said AM smelt of liquor at 3am

Ohhhh boy, oh boy!! And they're going to leave him in Orange County jail over the weekend!? I bet the S boy's lawyer got wind of this and that's why he moved fast. RM also mentioned something happened to make him drop being PM's estate attorney. I wonder if RM is quaking in his boots yet, along with the "infamous" judge and probably numerous bankers not just one.

Does anyone have a theory of why he's not being charged with insurance fraud, embezzlement, etc.? These two charges sound pretty light considering the scheme involving at least two others.
These were the easiest and fastest cases to make probably. The embezzlement one will require a lot more digging, especially if it took place over several years.

Things are continuing to move though, which is a great sign. I also love the federal and state angles here.

Well you know the other lawyer promised to release the name of who they were thinking the killer was...**shhhh I'm thinking cousin Eddie but I think he probably messed up their plans?** in a week. That was 3 weeks ago?

Dang but those lawyers be promising and pledging and then leave us high and dry. Whaasup wit dat?

I find that an extremely odd statement for a lawyer to make.

I hope you're right that this is only the beginning of the charges, so far it just feels like he's being treated with kid gloves.

After a little more reading around, it seems the extradition waiver applies only to the previous charges and not these.

It was odd for his lawyers to be looking for suspects in the first place. It's almost as if they're forming a defense...

Completely! He said we are working on it and then we will let law enforcement know. Why would they wait to tell LE their “supposedly” list of culprits? You’re right, total defense move IMO.

Harpootlian told NBC News’ Today Show host Craig Melvin Wednesday that his client did not kill his wife, Maggie, and 22-year-old son Paul, and they’re “working on individuals” who might “have some culpability or know who did it.”

“We are not law enforcement,” said Harpootlian, a state senator. “We don’t have their tools. But we think we will know this week whether the one suspect we are looking at bears further scrutiny. We will make that information available to law enforcement.”

Alex Murdaugh's extradition hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in Orange County, Florida. If extradition is granted, he will be transferred to SC likely on Saturday. Alex Murdaugh will likely have to spend the weekend behind bars..

He is safer in a jail in Orlando over the weekend than he is in a local jail in his state of NC.[/QUOTE]

Let me just say I admire & salute you & give you a hug (I guess pre-Covid)!!
And if he was getting them legally it wouldn’t have cost him as much right? Let me ask you-do you think Alex could have gotten them legally with all the regulations? Just curious on your thoughts.
Thank you for your kind words and a virtual hug is very much appreciated. To answer your question- I honestly don’t know because I don’t know how the regulations work in the USA. I don’t know what would be prescribed and for how long. But we all know that money talks and in many occupations, when money is offered, especially a large amount, who is to say that he didn’t find a DR who would prescribe them to him and look the other way when given a generous retainer? Let’s be honest, there are many occupations where people can be bought, just like corrupt police officers. In terms of the numbers of specialist DRs I’m sure that this is a tiny percentage and that most are amazing DRs who do fantastic work and really look after their patients but if one has been bought by AM, who knows? All MOO
