Canada - Coronavirus COVID-19 #3

I am curious whether Canada will be relaxed about booster shots until roughly January 2022, when many people will be 6-7 months post-second shot. If "breakthrough" happens as often in Canada as it did in Israel, I expect Canada to launch an aggressive booster shot plan based on age again in March or April.

"Many Canadians are watching as countries like the U.S. and Israel authorize COVID-19 booster shots for more people and wondering why third doses aren't being widely recommended in Canada.

Israel is moving most aggressively, recommending boosters to everyone 12 years of age and older. In the U.S., everyone 65 years old and above is eligible for a booster, along with people with certain underlying medical conditions.

Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) has so far only recommended third doses for people living in long-term care and people who have one of a handful of specific conditions that makes them moderately to severely immunocompromised.
...

CBC News spoke to immunologists, infectious diseases specialists and a geriatrics expert to find out. All agreed that everyone will need a booster at some point — but for most people, that time isn't now. "

I'm posting the link for this again as the one above did not work for me:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/vaccine-certificate-accessibility-1.6213934

The article makes important arguments about accessibility, however, there are alternatives to using technology for proof of vaccination. I have the two hard copies I received at the time of inoculation. That is a backup system available to everyone. For those who have lost that documentation, additional copies can be requested.

Perhaps the messaging needs to change to emphasize that both technology, and non-technology, immunization records are acceptable. Furthermore, those who require proof of vaccination should know that digital or hard copy proof is acceptable.

This restaurant was a favorite stopping place for us driving to and from the Okanagan to the Coast. We would gas up next store and eat brunch, lunch or dinner at Rollys. It became a tradition for years. In fact the now 15 year old, doggie currently sitting beside me on my sofa was purchased in Rollys parking lot ( after our great meal) from a local Hope resident selling an eight week old puppy. However, having seen the current attitude and behaviour on tv news,,,,we will NOT be returning to eat there. EVER! We are totally disappointed and disgusted. I wonder how many other non Hope residents will feel the same?
