MI - Jennifer Blackmon, 35; Car found; No-show for meeting; River Rouge; 22 Dec 2020

A mother of four is missing and a big push is being made to locate her, including pleas made by her daughter, mother and brother.

Jennifer Blackmon, 35, has been missing since Dec.22 just before 8 p.m. in the 400 block of Polk Street.

She last spoke with her father about having her car repaired, then borrowed a car to run some errands.

Her family said they received a call from someone she was supposed to meet with on business, who said she was “a no-show.”

The family searched every place they knew she frequented and then filled a missing person’s report.

She is black, 5 foot 5 inches and has hazel eyes. She also has a scar near her bottom lip.

Blackmon’s mother spoke at a recent Crime Stoppers press conference and said she keeps waiting for her daughter to come home.

She has to field some pretty difficult questions from her daughter’s children who want to know if she will go out and find their mother.

Amonte’ Hamer is one of Blackmon’s children and made a passionate plea for her mother’s safe return.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for any information leading to the location of Blackmon.

Information can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP or visit the website at 1800speakup.org.

Daughter of missing River Rouge mother of four makes passionate plea for help finding her

On the day of her disappearance, her car broke down. She used her daughter’s car to get to work. That car was found on Frazier Street, where she used to live with her ex-husband.

Blackmon’s brother said the police had been called to the couple’s home in the past.

"Policeman called the day we had moved her out. Then that September police called then. So far as I know, police knew about this issue," Aaron Hamer said.

Aaron Hamer said he hired a private investigator who discovered that Blackmon’s last phone call was with her estranged husband. Her phone was also pinged and the last known location was allegedly the house on Frazier, but police will not confirm any information.

The lead detective said the investigation is ongoing, and police have not named a person of interest.

"We all need closure. I need closure for her children. I have been fighting so hard, and I'm going to continue to fight to find her and bring her back home where she belongs with us," Aaron Hamer said.

Blackmon has three young children as well. They are staying with family and keep asking where she is.

Blackmon’s mother, Mae Jackson Hamer, said her daughter would never leave her children.

"No, no, no, she would fight to come home for her children," she said.

I'm curious if the PI is the only one that is claiming to have information about her phone and the place it was last pinged at? I could be missing it, but I haven't seen it announced by an official source? Has anyone tried to send out a FOIA request for this?

I am within about an hour's drive from where she disappeared and I have never heard of her case until now. It's sad and so disappointing how little media coverage there has been.

WOW this is so sad...
I do NOT mean to sound like I'm victim blaming, but everyone needs to have a safety plan for visiting exes :(
too many times we've seen a "stop-by" turn into a nightmare ruining so many lives.
Beautiful Momma I'm so sorry this happened to you
