Even if WT's remains are found where they are looking it will be a miracle if they can come up with a cause of death, let alone identify a suspect, then prove it, which is OK. Maybe WT's legacy will be in regards to how missing child cases are handled in the future? Let the lessons fall where they belong, police will probably have to wear a lot of criticism, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if it means there are better outcomes down the track for other cases.

A week or two ago, many were saying 'the police know exactly where to look for the remains---they must know the facts already--must have a witness, etc, etc'

But it appears to me like they are looking at a myriad of places, which could cover a whole bunch of scenarios. I am not sure I believe that this is 'not speculation.'

So far, off the top of my head, they searched the garden, the garage, the driveway, both sides of the creek, the riding stable, the pond, and now the dam, and the water tank, not to mention the huge pit they created.

It feels to me like they are suspicious of the FM and are looking everywhere they can think of that she might have had access to. But they do not have a confession or a witness to the actual events. JMO

Apologies if this has been posted already. From yesterday:

EXCLUSIVE: Neighbour who saw 'a little boy in a Spider-Man suit' in a car on the DAY William Tyrrell disappeared breaks his silence - and claims cops are searching in the WRONG spot

William Tyrrell's foster grandmother's neighbour still CERTAIN he saw boy on day he vanished | Daily Mail Online

A gold or brown Landcruiser. Does that tally with any vehicles belonging to the families, neighbours, previous POI's?

Not sure, but it makes sense that the child would be unrestrained if abducted (no child seat.)
Right.

But there are other possibilities as well. If you add the context of the speeding male following right behind, it makes me think of a domestic situation. And the mom/grandma might have quickly loaded her child into the back and sped off from an angry boyfriend?

Or with someone driving that recklessly, they may just be negligent and irresponsible, and dint buckle the child in, or ignored it when they unbuckled themselves and climbed out?

It could be a kidnapping, but I can't get my head around the witness not calling 000 once he saw the news. He swears he saw little William being abducted and he had a description of the car and driver and which way they were headed, and he doesn't report it?

And all of the searches that they have been doing are of where the FC either drove to or was at. Definitely IMO has been some form of tip-off or admission that has raised suspicion on teh FC

If this is speculative and fulfilling request of the coroner, I wonder if they will search anywhere else, perhaps FA’s known haunts at the time. He was never cleared was he?

Absolutely, when this was first reported previously I was hopeful however as time has gone by I am doubtful of his statement and that he saw what he said he did. Maybe he was confused who knows, I am just not believing it was William. IMO

Maybe they need the former to prove the latter . The body might might tie it all into place.( sorry to sound insensitive to Williams remains ). I still can’t get my head around fm being responsible though. FA I was so sure was the one .

I think if ffc did it.. one chance that day....days..weeks later anybody could have put him close by somewhere....I'm just not sure why any of this was not done at the time with so many search people etc being that close to where he went missing

Landcruiser are utes or people movers (troop carriers) . Single or dual cab or what you would call vans. I would not call a Landcruiser a car and I am not sure that anyone would.

@Cleaver Greene

I have a question please that requires your highly honed legal mind and expertise as I have difficulty understanding something about a certain aspect of the Coronial Inquest process!

We, the public, are well and truly aware that the (maternal) foster grandmother was one of 2 adults present at the time that William vanished from 48 Benaroon Drive on 12/9/2014. This address is where the (maternal) foster grandmother was domiciled prior to and after William vanished.

There has been nothing in the media that suggests she was called to give testimony at the recent Coronial Inquiry. The information contained in the this media article gives detail of part of the foster grandmother's Police statement and the reason why the Coroner released the (maternal) foster grandmother's statement. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6974207/William-Tyrrells-foster-grandmothers-police-statement-inquest-revealed.html.

My question is two-pronged: Would there be any legally based reason the (maternal) foster grandmother was not called to testify at the Coronial Inquiry? If say, a reason was a health-based condition or debility (physical or mental), would that health-based reason have to be verified by a medical specialist appointed by the Coroner? Your advice would be very much appreciated.

Same, at least they might rule her out before the case goes cold if she had nothing to do with it. To me this feels like the final death throes of an investigation before it’s moved onto cold case now.
