Man missing for 11 days
Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of 25-year-old Luke Deeley, who hasn't been since November 12.

A statement from South Wales Police said: "Luke, 25 years old, from Cardiff was last seen on the 12th November leaving his home in Roath, Cardiff.

"Luke is described as having a slim build, 6ft tall with dark hair and a bushy beard.

"He was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, dark jacket with a red hooded top underneath, black shorts, black socks and black and white trainers.

"Luke also has links to Pontypridd.

"If you have any information which will help us find Luke please call us and quote reference 2100404799.

This appeal was put out by police a few minutes before his arrest on Tuesday. Well done to @elliefant for finding it.

Yes, the photo from June 2020. I was mainly going by the police appeal description of dark hair and the photo dotr posted above my post of him arriving at court looks a bit henna-reddish in places.

I'm not sure if he has a fading black eye too, on his left eye.

There was a reference on one of his FB pages to dropping acid. So I would guess an existing MH instability that hasn't been helped by drug taking.

There have been conflicting reports. The early MSM (and police news release iirc) said she had died of multiple stab wounds. But that was when the chainsaw information and indeed the victim's identity were still under wraps and the suspect still at large, so it may have been deliberately imprecise. Or then again, that may have been the cause of death and the chainsaw may only have been used post mortem. Afaik, no definitive clarification has yet emerged.

Luke Deeley, 25, spoke only to confirm his date of birth and address when he appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The defendant, of High Corner, Graig Yr Helfa, Pontypridd, was remanded in custody to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, November 29. The defendant also gave an address of Donald Street in Roath, Cardiff.

Wearing a yellow and blue top, Deeley spoke via video-link from another room in the courthouse to confirm his name, age and address.

He requested a Welsh interpreter for the hearing.

Prosecutor Gareth James said police and crime scene investigators are still in the process of gathering evidence at Ms Fox-Roberts’ house.

The hearing was adjourned until January 14, and a provisional trial date was set for May 9.

Deeley was remanded in custody.

Detectives investigating the murder of June Fox Roberts in November last year are appealing for help from the public. Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are trying to locate a missing iPhone which belonged to the victim. They are also trying to locate two items of clothing which they suspect have been discarded.

Mobile Phone:


The missing iPhone 11 is in a red flip case. The IMEI is 356809119984924 and the serial number is GONDC2KFM737. Officers believe the phone, which was not known to be damaged, may have been dropped, discarded or even sold to an unsuspecting buyer back in November - anyone who may have bought the phone should check the serial numbers.

Clothing:


Officers are also trying to locate the red hooded jumper with drawstrings in the hood and a black waist-length hooded jacket, which are both pictured. They believe this clothing may have been discarded somewhere between Llantwit Fardre and Pontypridd.


Detective Inspector Matt Powell, who is leading the investigation, said:

“Specially trained officers continue to support June’s family during what is a very difficult time.
“We are very grateful for the public’s help and support to date and our investigation is continuing.
“Despite extensive searches we have not managed to locate these items. We believe they were probably discarded somewhere between Llantwit Fardre and Pontypridd. Farm workers, ramblers and also those living in villages between these two locations are asked to look out for them. Anybody who comes across them should to contact us without handling the items. This will ensure they can be recovered correctly by trained officers so that potential evidence is not lost."
