I don't think she would or could hide in order to fly. At the time she wasn't wanted, so the flight was legal.
However, this is very confusing. As of the past few days, the US Marshalls still believed that she was in the Austin area and they had 3-10 agents actively looking for her. (US Marshals believe suspect connected with homicide still in Austin area) One would think that they Us Marshalls inquired with the airlines ASAP to see if she had flown when the arrest warrant was issued on the 17th of May. While the travel was days before the arrest warrant, what seems to have delayed the discovery she had taken a flight? The Marshals have very broad authority to apprehend fugitives. (https://www.usmarshals.gov/duties/factsheets/overview.pdf). Seems very odd to direct the search in Austin if she had flown to NYC a week before.

She could easily leave the country from NYC.

I'd think NYC would be awfully expensive unless you were staying in someone's place for free. and even then, you're gonna need a job of some sort eventually.

Surprised she has done so little to change her appearance. Vanity over caution
She probably went up to New Hampshire or Vermont
It’s not brown, or blonde. Pictures of her are still all over social media. It’s red.
TV Station in Austin posts photo of her with Strickland. Looks more blonde here with a tinge of red Moriah Wilson murder: What we know so far about the crime and Kaitlin Armstrong

I put together a timeline, mostly based on information from the warrant (links at bottom).

May 10
- CC picks MW up from airport.

May 11
~5:30 pm - CC leaves her apartment to meet friends.
5:55 pm - CC's door is locked. CS says it was around 5:45pm that he and MW went to the pool.
8:16 pm - MW and CS leave the burger place on CS's motorcycle.
8:26 pm - KA's SUV goes north on Maple then west on East 18th
8:35 pm - CS's motorcycle goes north through the alley, north of East 18th
8:36 pm - CC's door is unlocked; CS sends a text to KA saying he's heading home.
8:37 pm - KA's SUV captured on camera stopping next to CC's residence.
8:48 pm - CS's motorcycle is about 8 miles from CC's residence
~8:43 pm - Per CS, he arrives home and sends another text to KA.
~8:30-9:30 pm - CC's landlord/owner of the house partially raises the garage door (CC's apartment is directly above the garage) and then hears someone running down the stairs from CC's apartment and believes he sees a bicycle go south through the alleyway.
9:21 pm - CS sends another text to KA; "not long after" KA arrives home.
9:56 pm - Police respond to CC's residence where CC is performing CPR. CC had arrived home 2 mins prior to calling 9-1-1; noticed door was unlocked.
10:10 pm - MW pronounced deceased.

May 12
- Police go to CS and KA's home and speak with CS. All three vehicles are in the driveway. CS drives to police HQ for a formal interview. During the interview, a search warrant is executed at his residence and his & hers 9mm guns are located (hers = Sig Sauer; his = Springfield Arms).
- KA is apprehended on an unrelated warrant and brought in; when warrant deemed not valid, KA ends interview and leaves.

May 13
- Police speak with MW's friend who gives the background on relationship between MW and CS. Police hide the friend's identity as she is afraid of KA.
- Per CS, this is the last day he speaks with KA.
- Police note KA's social media has been wiped.

May 14
~12:30 pm - KA is at Austin airport. Flies to Houston then connects to New York (LaGuardia).
- Police receive a call from an anonymous caller who says they were with KA earlier in year when she discovered the relationship between MW and CS and KA indicated she had or would soon acquire a firearm.

May 17
- KA's Sig Sauer gun is tested and found to potentially be the one used to kill MW.
- Warrant is issued for KA's arrest.

~May 18/19
- KA's father speaks with her; knew where she was at that time (per his TV interview, which was recorded the night of May 23, he had spoken with her about 5 days earlier)

Austin and Hobby are small airports. Easier to spot her.

I would have done a quick hair chop and connected via IAH/Bush airport instead of the smaller HOU/Hobby.

Agreed. And at the end of the video at the below link, the reporter says the U.S. Marshals say the key is finding her Jeep Grand Cherokee. Have they checked the airport parking??

Great job! Thanks for doing this!

I think she could blend in very well in a lot of settings. It’s a shame she got such a huge lead time in getting away!

I wonder if she has an alias she traveled under? Because if she flew under her own name I would think this info would have been released sooner.

Video of her and some additional still pictures

Can't say for certain but I imagine it would have been the first place they looked. If they were sharp enough to discover that she was at these airports, my guess is they would have done a thorough search for the car.

Here are the details of her flight to NY, which arrived a bit late at 7:23pm local time.

It still seems like this remains somewhat confused. Having another "identity" to travel for someone that possibly committed a crime of passion seems pretty sophisticated and premeditated but who knows. What remains confusing is whether or not LE could have found her under her name on a flight or via CCTV at the airport doesn't seem like a huge undertaking when the flight in question seems to have happened the day after she was last heard from and several days before her father last spoke with her. The article quoted above treats the identity by law enforcement as confirmed: "U.S. Marshals said Armstrong, 34, was at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on May 14 around 12:30 p.m." From the 17th (warrant day) to the 24th the belief she was in the Austin area was based on her car and ties to the community according to the article. It just seems like a very limited approach to a "manhunt" for an alleged murderer with Austin Police involved in addition to 3-10 US Marshals. Just seems like a pretty huge miss and vital time lost insofar as she landed in NYC 11 days ago and from NYC, 11 days is a gigantic amount of time to get someplace else undetected.

Where's Tommy Lee Jones when you need him?

Isn't it difficult to fly with a fake ID these days?

Other thoughts....based on she flew under her name.
How did she get to the airport? Uber - if so, she has a digital trail by credit card.
When did she book the flight? Prior to May 11 or after?
How did she pay for the flight? i.e. follow the money trail

One other thought...did KA remove an unusual amount of cash between end of April and May 14 from bank account, retirement plan, bank loan/liquidate, or cash advance in the planning and possible pre-meditation of alleged events on 5/11 and subsequent travel to NYC on 5/14.
