Found Deceased TX - Chrissy Powell, 39, San Antonio, Paralegal, didn’t arrive @work, BOLO, 5 July 2022

I have seen that happen only once or twice over the years, and in those instances, at least in those cases that I was following. LE announced the MP had been located and was safe. No other explanation was provided. But that basic info was.

I remember the case of Carrie Bradshaw Crowther and her family made a statement and that was the end of that. Believe she faked her pregnancy and then disappeared, police found her after she used her credit card at a CVS.

What obligation do the police have, say if they have heard from her and she doesn't want contact with her loved ones for whatever reason, they don't have to share that with her family/public or do they?
Yes because they filed a missing report and she’s endangered because of medication they do have to announce that she’s been found.

they don’t have to give any more detail than that.

Good question, @bestill, with regard to LE knowing where she is and her telling them not to inform her family and others. She's an adult (39 y/o).
With a minor, I should think that LE would possibly bring in Children's Services (or whatever the name) and go from there, but that's not what we have here...
LE may have had such situations where a missing adult does not want her/his location known. I have no idea how they would respond. If indeed she needs meds and does not have them with her, that could complicate LE's actions. SMH.

Every day that passes may well be putting her in more and more danger.

Edited to add:
Thanks, @Jemma, for your post! :)

That would never happen for any of the employers I have ever had. They might have called the emergency contact on file, and if no result there, then they might have called LE and asked for a wellness check, but they would never have gone to my house. Maybe this is something that small businesses/companies/firms might do, unlike larger organizations.
I have to agree, as a manager of many differently sized teams I would never show up at someone's house to check on them, even if they hadn't shown up, even if they told me they would be there in 5 minutes. I would be reaching out to members in their household or emergency contacts by phone for sure but unless someone in the office had a personal relationship or was a close friend or a relative I would never send someone to their home. I mean it is a very nice thing that the office manager did make that effort, and perhaps its just a lucky coincidence that she did check on her, but it also gives me the impression that the office manager may have had reason to be concerned right away; some part of the story we haven't heard yet...

Agree- if she had been located safe they would make a brief announcement and that's it. If however they had located her car or other evidence such as video, they may sit on that for some time if they didn't need the public to help them extend the value of that evidence.

What I have read is that she has a medical condition that requires medication...which could be anything!

"Powell has a medical condition that requires medication that she does not have with her."

Nothing about meds in this report:

Nothing about vital medicine in this one either:

Where is the need for vital medicine coming from?
I have a need for vital daily medication too. I have asthma I will not die because of it but my lungs overreact to an irritant sometimes, so I take it daily too keep them calm otherwise I wheeze after a while and it can be uncomfortable not deadly just uncomfortable if left untreated for an extended period of time it could cause complications. There are many medication a person can take that are vital and necessary for overall health in the long run, but do not cause immediate danger if missed. I hate to immediately jump to the conclusion she is on some mental health meds when that may not be the case at all.

I work for the largest law firm in the state. And if someone on my team failed to show up to work, and failed to call in, we DO send someone out to check on them because we're like one giant (dysfunctional) family. So if one of my paralegals failed to show up, you better believe I'd be knocking on her door or have one of our investigators doing it. There's no way we'd wait. So the manager's efforts here are not unusual.

When did the office manager show up at her home? Was it shortly after she left or a couple of hours? I have wondered if the call from the office was to let Chrissy know that they were worried and the OM was on the way to check on her. Maybe they had been texting her and she slept through them.

This MSM article says that the office manager went to her home 2 hours after she failed to show up following the phone call.

Can't imagine how frantic her family must be. It's amazing me that they reported her missing so quickly, had her phone in their posession (so can see what the days leading up to this have been like) and there's been nothing. I have a bad feeling that this is going to not turn out well for Chrissy. jmo

Edited to add. Where could someone park a vehicle and it not be noticed other than in their garage or a remote area. Parking garages, airport, train or bus stations, hospitals? Any other thougths?
Motels, Casinos, 24 hr restaurants, Walmart

We had a case here - an adult - Veta Belford. Her family was frantic, but turns out she went away and broke all contact voluntarily. She was finally located safe, an insider came back and advised, then threads were removed. I don’t recall anything from LE being released about her being located.

One thought I had was that her clothing has been mentioned a couple times. I don’t see her attire as out of the ordinary. I live in a hot/humid climate but I dress for where I’ll be 99% of the day - which is indoors. It takes me about 10 seconds to get to my car, start it and then get back inside while it cools. Otherwise I’m in the unbearably hot car for a minute max. With her car being newer, she could also have remote start to cool it off before getting in.
