Found Deceased CA - Jolissa Fuentes, 22, Selma, 7 Aug 2022

You can find so many articles stating with all the usual information "last seen at am/pm, ping in Sanger & then Ping near Avocado lake" but besides that one verbal announcement from LE stating she was seen coming back into town, no one is mentioning it except her family. Could LE have been mistaking and just have not retracked the statement? They have a PI now, who I am hoping is able to help them more.

This is confusing to me as well, but could it be that since the AM/PM is out in the country south of Selma and Avocado lake is northeast, that what he means is that car was seen driving back through the city of Selma while heading in the direction of Avocado Lake?

Her poor parents, I got a lump in my thought when her Dad's voice cracked :(

In the video - when Jolissa comes out of the store and opens her car door. Is she unsteady? There's something unusual about the way she gets back in the car.
It looks like she's intoxicated and talking at her phone(speakerphone). Not smashed but definitely drank.

Not sure. According to the timeline her family gave to AWP, it is possible the unknown video is after avocado lake. BUT LE never confirmed a time or where they believed she went, where she came into town or anything. The family seems under the impression that her coming into town was after the lake and they wasted time up by the lake searching for her.

around 8:40 is when they go over a sort of timeline.

This is the link to the press conference. I have been unable to watch it yet.

No that is not correct. Family didn’t know of ping until later. I will pull all the documentation and write out the timeline in a bit.

Based on information directly from family members, the AWP interviews, and the police presser, this would be the most accurate timeline we have at the moment.

Saturday Aug 6th 8:45 PM Jolissa heads to Lingling Julie Chavez's house for a small family party with people familiar to Jolissa as well as some out of town members attending.
3 AM Aug 7th there is a disagreement of some sort and at 3-3:30AM Jolissa storms off to go to her home at her grandparents house nearby 1-2 blocks away. She grabs her bag, weed, cash, cards, just regular short term trip belongings.
3:59 AM she calls her brother Joey to see why he isn't home and if he wants to join her to smoke. He's out eating at Denny's with a group, so Jolissa heads to the AM/PM alone after letting him know where she was going as that act was routine for her.
4:04 AM she's seen buying blunt wraps for her smoke session.
4:06 AM she is seen turning west on Nebraska Ave in her 2011 Hyundai Accent. Cell phone data tracks her going west, north, then east through Sanger and pinging AL and PFL towers, known to have coding issues causing potential inaccuracies.
5:25 AM-5:26 AM Jolissa attempted to video call her sleeping sister. Unknown why, didn't leave a text so could be due to distress or due to habit of always telling someone her location before going.
Between 5 AM-8:30 AM Aug 7th she came back through Avocado or Pine Flats, toward the Sanger area back into town based on the cellphone data pings.
Unknown time Aug 7th She was spotted on camera alone in her car in a location and specific time withheld from the public after coming back into town. Presumed to be between the same time frame of 5 AM-8:30 AM given to the family, however because they are withholding the exact timing and location we do not know exactly where in the timeline it fits for certain at this moment. That's is, however, the last know sighting of both Jolissa and her car.

Timeline per family reporting on Find Jolissa Fuentes FB Page and LE press Conference

Sunday August 7th:

•3:30 AM JF returns home from friends party, calls brother when she notices he isn’t home because she wanted to hangout. Tells him she’s going to store.

•3:59AM Sister has screenshots showing missed call from JF.

•4:06AM JF is seen on video leaving AMPM store and turning Left on Nebraska Ave (West bound).

•5:24-5:25AM JF called sister On FB Messenger-calls are missed as she was asleep.

•Monday August 8th LE sent Emergency Ping to JF cell phone and it showed Avocado Lake (revealed at Press Conference 8/22). Did not ping after that later that morning. At the end the LE officer says Sunday August 7th.

•Tuesday August 9th Family searching area West of Selma Fowler/Floral area and LE following up on tips. LE searched this area with drones.

•Thursday August 11th LE received info from cell phone provider of JF. Able to narrow down search area to Avocado Lake/Pine Flat area. They were able to see her phone traverse through the city of Sanger (Northeast of Selma) to the Avocado Lake/Pine Flat area. At that time they involved Fresno Cty Sheriffs office to assist with search secondary to Selma PD lack of resources. Digital info (Cell/social media) was sent to Fresno PD, Fresno Sheriff and FBI to help analyze. (All of this was disclosed at Press conference 8/22).

•August 22nd Selma PD Press Conference:
—>Reports Fresno Sheriff has searched via helicopter. Also reports main roadways searched, water searches and searches by off road vehicles (over 1700 ground miles).
—>video showing JF driving east in Selma (unknown time/location)
—>LE notes all video they've seen she appears to be by herself.

•August 25th Adventure with Purpose begins searches and do not find Jolissa/vehicle

*I hope this clears up the confusion on when she drove into Selma and they note the video is coming back into town from where she had went west on Nebraska. This is before she goes through Sanger and into Avocado Lake/Pine Flats.

Team member Doug Bishop told KSEE that it is a “process of elimination” and they were able to “rule out Avocado Lake.”

According to KSEE, the dive team’s search efforts continued into the Pine Flat Lake and Winton Park areas.

Jolissa’s mother, Norma, told Dateline that the dive team has now left. “They were here and they searched these waters,” Norma said. “Nothing turned up.”

Did AWP search the kings river which feeds both avocado lake and the pine flats lake .
Pine flats lake is a little outside of their 5 mile search radius being 13 miles Loved ones searching for 22-year-old Jolissa Fuentes who disappeared in Selma, California on August 7

<modsnip quoted post was removed for rumors> this article mentions that location is an orchard and that gave me goosebumps since OP mentioned "Her family says she may have been going to nearby orchards, where she and a recently deceased friend used to hang out":

Until the information about her being seen in her car coming back into town from Avocado lake between 5-8:30 am, I would have believed she invited the guy that walked out of the AMPM before her to go have a smoke with her since her brother didn't. She followed him out of the parking lot, hence going West. He ends up being a bad guy and yada yada yada...However, she is seen coming back to town alone in her car? Puzzling why LE has left us with such a large time frame? And according to the time frame, she is presumably back in town when she tries to FB messenger her sister at 5:24-5:25am?? That is weird, where was she??

Hmmm, interesting. Reedley is somewhat between Avocado Lake and Selma. About 15 miles from each. But could her body go undiscovered in that neighborhood for six weeks?

If this unidentified body is Jolissa, then a few questions:

If she committed suicide in that thick orchard her car would be parked nearby. Also car nearby if she was smoking in the orchard and someone attacked her and ran off.

If someone dumped her body there, where is her car? In a garage, shed, barn around there?

No way that body was there for so long

If it's her she was recently killed or has been stored in a freezer all this time. The car is definitely hidden, probably getting stripped and destroyed slowly. Could this be gang related? Anyone know what kind of people she hangs out with?

AND if she came back into Selma at 5:30-8 am, why leave and go back to Reedley? Something isn't right.

This sucks.. I can't believe no new information is available. I'm hoping the cops have their suspects and are gathering evidence because this is too mush. People dont vanish out of thin air. Reminds me of the time that woman went missing from the casino in lemoore. They ended up charging the ex husband but the body was never found. Everyone thinking jolissas in a body of water but dont dismiss the possibility of her being buried in a random spot.. if that's the case then someone will accidentally dig her up one day or sadly, not.. unless she left on her own accord the possibility of her being alive is very slim.

I see the sister was out of town in LA and Jolissa tried calling her, I wonder if she maybe wanted to get away for a couple days and meet up? I personally am wondering if she’s way out of the way in a funky spot that nobody would expect. It’s vast out there… sharp turns, cliffs, trees, bodies of water… heck, even just open remote areas of the desert.

“I pray that she comes home today," said Joey Fuentes, Jolissa's father. "Life's been really hard for me and my family. Don't ever give up on my daughter."

The family organizing a Facebook page which includes updates, photos, and details surrounding search efforts.

"Thank you for all your prayers; thank you for all your support," said Fuentes.

"The community keeps us strong, keeps us looking, and helps us achieve our search efforts," said Norma Nuñez, Jolissa's mother. "We're very touched."

"On Saturday, friends, family members, and supporters gathered at Brentlinger Park in Selma to release 56 balloons – one for each day she’s been gone."

"
“We look for her every day. Everyday. We will, until she comes home,” Banda said.

“Every Saturday we organize searches at my mother-in-law’s. We go out and do a bigger search. We don’t stop searching for her, not until she’s home,” said Norma Nunez, Jolissa’s mother."

Personal Opinion. Her Family is really working hard to keep Jolissa's name and face out there.

Anyway, I think one of the most frustrating things about them being vauge is that even things given as "fact" can be interpreted in different ways intentionally so. Using the presser and what the family tells us in the AWP interviews tells us that Jolissa "came back into town" according to LE but we wouldn't know if that meant back into Selma from going east on Nebraska or back into Sanger from Avocado Lake if we hadn't been paying attention. Both the family and LE says back into town. However, from the presser:
●She left AMPM heading westbound on Nebraska she came back through Avocado or Pine Flats toward the Sanger area so she obviously came back to town, correct? (A family member asks) (LE looks for confirmation to answer) yes, yes she did and she was by herself in the video that we see.
●There was no phone call made to say why she came back into town? Cannot get into specific phone calls that may or may not have been placed and to whom that's part of the active investigation

Given this line of questioning, we are able to confirm that she came back into town *after* AL/PF and Sanger. He didn't ask if she came back into town after turning on Nebraska, but rather after Sanger. This isn't rumor, it's critical thinking skill applied.

The family gives the time frame of 5:30-8AM based on cell data from LE but because they're withholding when and where she was seen on CCTV again, we cannot confirm the former as fact even through it was presented as such. All 3 of those sources confirm the same thing, but becasue we do not have the whole picture we cannot say certain things without inferring others and that is no longer fact even if based on it. We can quote the presser and family interviews all we want but if no one goes to watch them for context, they aren't going to be helpful to anyone, mods included.
