We need help identifying this brand of shoes.

I'm pretty sure that the folks at Dicks Sporting Goods and DSW think I'm a nut. Walking up and down the isles and turning every shoe over and looking at the sole. Tomorrow it will be the pet store looking at dog booties and the discount sneaker shop.

I did that at Walmart the other day. Also Foot Locker online kicked me off, saying I wasn’t clicking at human speeds and was robot and wouldn’t let me look at anymore shoes.

IMO It has to be a flipflop/sandal/beach thong? In the image at the bottom of the imprint its only getting larger not smaller. Shouldn't it be getting narrower if it was a sneaker? Look at the club/trefoil at the bottom of our image.View attachment 383160
I'm replying to myself and correcting something in my original post that I'm replying to ok now we know its a shoe IMO it may be an open toed shoe that's why to me it looked like those footwear I mentioned in the original post. IMO that's an important distinction to be made and thanks to those who have posted about open toed shoes. And its trefoil not club/trfoil that I actually meant at the bottom of the shoe image.

I am finally catching up on this thread. I haven't seen it mentioned yet so will post my initial findings of a google search of what I think the letters say. Also, I am seeing a club and heart playing card style on the imprint so focusing my searching for themed shoes. I am an IT geek so will work with the image when I have time to try and see more.

I think up thread there was some wondering whether we are looking at the toe / pad area or the heel area in the photo. In regards to this, Imo it's definitely the toe and pad area because looking at shoes with horizontal writing, when the letters are right side up, the shoe's position is toe at top, heel at bottom. Just wanted to toss that out there.:)

It was debated early on whether the "heart" was a heart or another "club". I think because the image is mirrored and inverted it seemed likely to be another club or trefoil shape. It's possible no one has gone down the path of it being a heart, so good thinking! It definitely could be.

I apologize for three posts in a row ~ how annoying!

On the off chance that we should be focusing on the negative space in the image instead of the flexing animals, I toyed around and tried to make them less prominent and the area between them more noticeable. I cut off some areas that were giving me trouble along the edges. here's what I came up with. I'll try to do this again when I have time and include more of the image.IMG_20221130_093654.jpg
It looks like a J and an inverted J or possibly p. With arrow type ends to the lines. Club to the left, heart or another club / trefoil to the right. Thoughts?

i spent a bit of time (and frustration) working the angle of the “logo”. I see a dog/wolf/rat with a heart eye flexing a fist, and a king or queen with a club on the opposing side. I searched the image several versions in google. I searched casinos (giveaway slides or slippers?), as well as kids fairytale or storybook shoes. I searched custom street wear. I really like the skater angle too, but seems that came up empty so far. I was dreaming about it and had to step away for a couple days….!

I know, right? I am driving myself crazy right there with you. I was down an LA Dodgers rabbit hole all day that got me pretty much nowhere.

I was going off CA (California) and LAD (Los Angeles Dodgers) and this:

A ladies shoe but look at the bottm in relation to top to bottom ratio. IMO perhaps something similar with the enitre bottom of the shoe being flat and the weight on the areas on the image we have, the weight of the shoe or person made those markings. Because its a partial print right? Maybe the weight of the shoe factors in? IDK if that helps any or makes sense. If its a lighter weight shoe would it make such an image. This may also factor into what we are looking at. IDK a partial print as opposed to a full image of the print could that mean that the image being partial has something to do with weight also. Although I don't know if this thought helps anyone or not. Hopefully it does and someone can further expand on this.

I'm not sure we can know with certainty. The detective that took the photo said it was a wet print that was quickly drying. I took that to mean it was evaporating because she seemed to feel fortunate to find it and photograph it before it was gone.

My point is there are potentially many reasons it's a partial print. Weight or pressure could definitely be part of it, but so could amount of wetness on a certain area of shoe - a dry area of the shoe wouldn't have shown up. A slightly wet part of the shoe may have dried more quickly, etc. Would knowing help us narrow down the style and brand? If it would in some way, I say go for it! Look into it as if the wearer of the shoe was placing weight on the area we see in the print. Good luck!

I see your point I was just thinking perhaps the type of shoe that made it could at least be identified.

So the cement was drying quickly. I guess that's why only one print was good enough to make this image. One would think there would be other images at the site but I guess not of this quality and the detective had to as you said work quickly. So this is the only piece we have to work with.
