MA MA - Brittany Tee, 35, Brookfield, 10 Jan 2023 *last seen leaving a residence*

“They’ve had a drone in the air, cadaver dogs, people on the ground. They got dogs looking for human scent. It’s been an extensive and thorough search,” says Joe Early Jr. the Worcester County District Attorney.

She was last seen leaving a house in Brookfield on Tuesday, January 10th, and reported missing three days later. Friends say a lack of communication caused the delay in notifying the police. Now it’s been nearly a week since they’ve heard from her.

“There’s a lot of people that are really concerned about her and we just want her to know that we all love her so much and that we want her home safe,” said Brittany’s friend, Mattie Sjoblom.

Dozens of Brittany’s friends and family showed up at the Brookfield Police Department looking for answers about the investigation. Brittany’s friends say mounting pressure and the power of numbers led to police finally getting the word out that she’s missing.

“Today was the day that all of us just kind of had enough. We did show a large presence of support out in the parking lot across the street from the station today which I feel as though helped get the ball rolling,” said Mattie Sjoblom, Brittany’s friend.

Local and State Police searched the neighborhood of Tee's boyfriend for clues on Sunday. Police dogs tried to pick up a scent in the woods near Lewis Field and a drone scoured the area from above.

A group of Tee's friends gathered at the police department to join the search, but investigators feared they might unintentionally trample important evidence.

Friends also told WBZ-TV that Tee's car was found at her boyfriend's house. Her phone was last pinged near the Brookfield State Police Barracks on Route 9.

The Lewis Field area where police are searching (the area near where she was last seen) and the state police barracks on Rt. 9 are about a 2-3 minute drive apart or around 12-15 minutes walking.

Edit to say, if you did walk from the area of Lewis Field to the area of the state police barracks, the first part of the route would be through a part of town that is populated with a gas station, auto shops, etc, but the second half of the route would be quite devoid of any businesses and just a few scattered houses all set back from the road. Very wooded in that part of the route IMO.

Brittany was last seen leaving her home on Tuesday but her sister, Bethany Tee, says it’s unclear if she left in a car or headed somewhere on foot.

Bethany said her sister always stayed in touch with family and that her sudden lack of communication is highly unusual.

“She’s loving, hardworking. She loves her niece and nephew very much. She would not leave on purpose,” Bethany said as she fought back tears. “We always talked to her almost daily. This is so out of the norm for her and that’s what scares us. I just don’t know.”

Another case with DA's Office involvement early on? Maybe it's something unique to MA?
MA is extremely sensitive, and early-on, to criminal cases involving possible involvement of a woman's significant other. Look up "Jerry Remy son" -- the touchstone case from 2014 -- to begin to understand why.

Earlier intervention might have saved Jennifer Martel.

Responders have been searching the area in a two-mile radius and were working Monday to expand the scale of the search to three miles, officials said at a news conference. They asked anyone who lives in the area to share video -- some of which has already been helpful -- and check buildings on their property for any sign of Tee.

"We have her on foot and we have her out in the elements so, yeah, we're really concerned," Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said. "That's why we're asking for the public's help."

Uh oh. This is going from bad to worse. :(

Brittany Tee, 35, was last seen Tuesday night leaving her boyfriend's house.

She was reported missing on Friday.

Worse just because of the word "boyfriend" or am I missing it?

It doesn't appear to me they have any real reason to search where they are. Do WSers who know more think that means they have something, or is this more just a place to look lacking any evidence of a "good" place to search, if that makes sense?

Is it being treated as possible involvement of her partner? Do you have a link for where LE have stated this?

Doesn’t sound like it in this article below?:

The disappearance of a woman from Brookfield, Massachusetts, last week is not being treated as a crime scene, authorities said Monday, as they planned to increase the scale of the search for her Tuesday, which would mark a week since she went missing.

They have her on foot ? Sounds as though maybe she left voluntarily? Perhaps an argument with someone at the residence she was at, took off to calm down? Why would they say they have her on foot?? JMO.

Brittany Tee, of Brookfield, has been missing for nearly a week, but was only reported missing three days after she was last seen.

“They’ve had a drone in the air, cadaver dogs, people on the ground. They got dogs looking for human scent. It’s been an extensive and thorough search,” said Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr, according to Boston 25 News.

Authorities scoured Brookfield near the boyfriend’s home for clues over the weekend, and police dogs eventually were able to pick up Tee’s scent in the woods near Lewis Field, a playground.

The DA usually does not get involved unless and until there's evidence of a crime. So it sounds to me that they have some evidence that some type of foul play was involved.

It looks like she was reported missing a few days before LE went public with a plea for information. They may have started out thinking it was a voluntary disappearance but then shifted based on some type of evidence that was uncovered. JMO

Her sister/friends in article above said her car was at her boyfriend's house. SO, LE saying she is on foot and they are concerned due to winter and elements.
